HeBasically my friend lags for no reason at all constantly. He never disconnects but he is always 3 bar or less for connection (MW3). This is his info about his set up and equipment:

30 mbps down 5 mbps up
time warner road runner high speed internet
cable internet
coax cable box runs directly to the modem and i got rid of all the splitters on the internet line.
xbox connected directly by ethernet to router"
He lives in Hawaii but he has never had internet problems until 4 months ago.
