[SOLVED] Why does my motherboard beep 5 times when I insert a gpu in it?

Hi, I'm new to this forum.

I will start by saying that it needs 2x 6-pin PCIe external power connectors, but I don't have any on my psu (which I plan to replace).
I just wanted to make sure that I didn't short anything on the motherboard, and if it's really just because the gpu isn't getting enough power because the external power connectors aren't connected.
It boots just fine if I remove it. Using it right now.

PC specs as of now :

Neutron Phantom case, mATX w/ included generic Neutron 700w psu
Intel Core i5-3570
some old Pegatron IPXSB-H61
8GB DDR3 RAM
WD 500GB hard disk drive
chinese cpu air cooler that keeps it around 40-50C on idle
some blood stains on the pcie mounting bracket because it's razor sharp

Yes its most likly because you havent been using the external power connector
