I just built my first egpu for my Asus Zenbook q420v. I've followed a few different tutorials while building it and so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I could be doing nothing and it disconnects. I could be playing a game and it disconnects. So I don't know what to do.

Specs are
Laptop: Asus Zenbook q420v
Dock: Orara egpu dock
Psu: 800w 80+ gold
Gpu: Gigabyte 3060 ti eagle

Please if you have any idea what I'm doing wrong please let me know.

update thunderbolt, chipset driver and the BIOS of the laptop
which psu exactly are you using?
nvidia driver up to date?
be sure the thunderbolt connector is plugged in tightly into the thunderbolt 4 port of your laptop , try the other port as well
eventually plug in a DC 12V POWER ADAPTER, which was not included with the dock

rma the dock, might not be compatible or faulty

I'll have to look at the thunderbolt drivers, but the laptop bios are updated. My power supply is a Apevia 800w out of a pre-built I've used for a long time, it powered my current pc for a little bit before I got a modular power supply. Which was a ryn 7 7800x3d and a rx 7800 xt. The nvidia driver is up to date I literally just downloaded it and did an update. I've tried both ports on the laptop and have tried 2 different cords.

Also what 12v power adapter would you recommend?
