Question Why is my IP adress not the usual format

I am trying to use my default gateway and my ipv4 address but the format does not look right

I was looking to make a minecraft server and watching a youtube video the ipv4 and the default gateway was a different format to mine
I did not think much of it until when trying to port forward, i used the default gateway and it says the site cant be reached

Private IP address ranges:

• 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 (65,536 IP addresses)
• 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 (1,048,576 IP addresses)
• 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 (16,777,216 IP addresses)

Any of those ranges can be used for local IP addresses.

I have more understanding but still when typing my default gateway 10.0.1.1 into chrome it says "this site can't be reached" and below says it refused to connect

It depends on your router. What's the model of your router btw?
It might:

allow access to web console only to certain (manually configured) ip/mac addresses,​

have web console on a different port.​

it says when i go into settings the manufacturer is Intel Corporation and it is Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN
I am pretty sure it is virgin media

That' s not a router. That is wifi card of your laptop.

So it is ISP pre-configured router, you have no access to.

If there's no info on your router, how to access web console, then
I guess you'll have to ask your ISP for support in this matter.

a year or two back my brother did the same thing and i am not sure how but he got a serve made, would you know anything on how he could've done it?

Can't you ask your brother?
He could have gained access to the router and changed settings, so only he can connect.
