Hey, I'm posting on here because I'm trying to get some help with my pc. Im currently trying to play Apex and I've watched many people play with similar specs and get close to 400 fps on low settings but I'm having trouble getting 100-200.
PC Specs
CPU - i7-12700k
GPU - RTX 3060 Msi Dual Fan 12GB
MOBO - PRIME B660M-A D4
RAM - 2x16GB 3600mhz corsair vengeance ram, non rgb
PSU - RM850x 80+ Gold Fully Modular
SSD - Samsung Evo 970 1TB

When you say similar specs, do you mean you have the same exact build as them?

Simply having "similar" may not yield the same results. There is are several factors that play into FPS tallies so a side-by-side comparison may not be entirely possible as I've seen different situations where someone had an exact matching system and still didn't get the exact same FPS as others.

What else is running in the background while you are trying to play Apex? Make sure your AV is set to Game Mode if it has one so that it isn't interfering with anything.

The only difference between the build vs mine was that he had an i7-10700 and the mobo wasnt listed, his ram was same speed and amount. And nothing else is running in the background, except for discord, I completely wiped my pc a day ago to make sure it wasnt anything in the background. I've also ran it with discord closed and get the same fps.

1) Are you playing online? Internet connection could also cause a drop in FPS. (It doesn't usually but can)
2) Do you have the most recent graphics drivers?
3) Have you OCed anything? If so, try scaling it back to defaults and see what happens.
Yes im playing online but have d/s and u/s of over 100mb/s and have never had issues with internet before. All my drivers are updated to the most recent, and i've even tried backdating to drivers before and it still hasnt helped. and nothing is OCed, everything is at default

ping is generally more important (to a point) than upload/download speed for online games. what is your ping?

In game it ranges between 30-60, normally on competitive I get higher ping. When I do speedtest online though I get 6 ping for idle, 109 ping for download and 330 ping for upload.
strange, I am not really sure what is going on unless there is some major difference between the PCs you are comparing against and your system. there isn't much benefit going over your monitor's refresh rate, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Well the weird thing is most of the computers I was comparing to actually had lower specs with higher fps, and rarely ever had dips. Thats why I came on here because I've been trying to figure this out for the past week and have had no luck.

Honestly, you can try to compare apples to apples and you might still get apples to oranges. FPS and DPS both are both performance metrics that can vary WILDLY from system to system....even EXACT duplicate cloned systems.

I can recall someone having similar issues that had two of the exact same machines down to the parts and programs for himself and his wife and they both experienced different FPS which could never be explained.
