Question Why my laptop becomes slow when using the caddy even the ssd is installed

Hi,
I have recently installed Kingston a400 120gb SSD on my laptop( Dell Vostro 1540). Which is running on the Intel 1st gen core i3 after installing the SSD I have noticed performance improvement of about 50% and I am very happy with the performance of my laptop. But then I feel I am losing on some storage then I decided to install a caddy on my DVD bay. When I installed the HDD on my DVD bay which is of 500 GB. Then my computer performance is not that great which is giving when the only SSD is installed on my laptop can anyone provide me with a fix for this problem

I had the same problem so I just put the DVD drive back in the Caddy because my system is so low end it doesn’t have the hardware necessary or a proper Sata connection
