why not mb support for 2-8 cpu`s?

>I've already made my points on where you're wrong on that

Yes, those alternate universes you keep creating, in which you reinvented mathematics and designed a rather impossible CPU micro architecture.. sorry, I keep forgetting those.

>so I'm not going to continue either of those conversations
>here any more than I am there.

Exactly my point.

P4MAN, maby ignoring s_f posts would make him go away?
s_f is a great jester, as he calls himself, and that poor bastard really
means it. He thinks it's OK to write loads of complete garbage
in a hardware forum just to show he's a great "jester".

What do you think?

ignoring works wonderfully against trolls, but I don't believe slvr is just a troll. He will occasionally make a post about something he doesn't know much about, or misread something, and when pointed to his mistakes, he will sometimes opt to stand by his incorrect post and make a sport out of defending a proven invalid point ad absurdum. And it really does get absurd at times.

When finally totally cornered, instead of admitting being wrong and/or admitting having kept the thread going for "fun", he will just make a comment like above and pull out of the thread, hoping he has maintained at least some of his credibility while proving to anyone that has followed the thread how small a man he really is.

There are two problems however; first, I don't like ignorant people (not meant in any negative way) being misguided, especially not if the only purpose of the misguiding is SLVR's egomania. Secondly, I can be every bit as tenacious as he is, and with truth on your side, it doesn't require a lot of "debating skill" (as he likes to call it) to prove a point.

So.. if he wants to continue to ridicule himself over trivialities like .9r, he is welcome to, but I won't let him (or anyone defending factually incorrect statements) off the hook as some people sometimes ask me to.

What I think is that you are taking this a little too far. I don't like to hear one of the most respected guys in this forum be flamed at by you, just because he disagrees with you guys on this one. When you start giving as much greatly appreciated information on this forum as sf does then you can complain about him. Until then, stop flaming and being a little bit of a prick.

Alright... I am once again finding myself in the position of appologizing. I most certainly did not intend to name call at you Era, you didn't deserve this, and it was exactly what frustrated me about your posts. For that I appologize, I hate it when people are reduced to childhood antics on this forum and am disappointed in my doing such. The reason I was so "heated" was that I thought the argument was mostly between SF and P4man, I didn't really see why you needed to jump on board here. I realize that one side of this argument is wrong, and it might even be SF (I don't know enough to say), what I do know is that if they want to disagree I really don't think we all need to start jumping on either of these guys to help bring them down. Both SF and P4man have earned great respect in this forum and shouldn't be subjected to that. I could understand it if it was some newb that didn't have any clue about what he was talking about, but that is not the case here as both of these guys know a great deal.

Its ok because the members here allow it. I like to BS and will continue to. We have a moderator but unlike other forums he doesnt get involved 99% of the time until one of the senior members alerts him that there is an issue. This means that for the most part he allows the senior members to police the forum. If you dont like it then get lost. Oh, and stop the AS5 kissing, we have a forum pervert that handles such issues.

Well this is CPU section of the forum and it's maddening to read those
misleading bullshitting posts of of SF and some others.
There are the Other and Polls sections where can go clowning.

Why to do it hear?

THG is nothing close to serious anyway.. Take it as a weird forum where you can expect to have some serious posts from time to time instead of a serious forum where clowns have fun posting some BS from time to time...You'll feel better..

And by the way, Wingding really miss you ..

Sig space for rent. make your offer.

You know how every forum has one person that goes out of their way to be friends with everyone. Here at THGC we are no different, well I dont go out of my way to be friends with everyone, but Wingding does. Anyway, if you do cross paths, try to be nice to him. He gets his feelings hurt if he doesnt think that everyone likes him. The last time someone was short with him he got his feelings hurt so bad that he didnt show back up for weeks.

Yes it's been a long time since I wrote to THGC. I usually just browse around
THGC every now and then, sometimes even more often, until I get so pissed off
of you mongreling bastards, I have to go away and try to find a life for my
self. Haven't succeeded yet, but I'm an optimist.
And I do visit the Other forum when my mind needs a filthup.

I agree that having 8 CPUs in a system is pretty ridiculous but would be awesome for upgrading, rather than having to buy a whole new MB, case, CPU etc, you could just plug another CPU in, plus they would be very cheap by the time you would need another one. As more apps take advantage of multithreading it would be worth it imo.

>As more apps take advantage of multithreading it would be

Then I suggest you by a 8 way motherboard and equip it with a single cpu. In a few years, as you bought more cpu's, let us know how happy you are with the price/performance of your system...

Sorry, that was assuming a 4 or 8 socket MB were a reasonable price as compared to a single socket MB, which will never happen...
