Why Was Nehalem Was Cancelled Then Uncancelled?

As you can see below, nehalem was cancelled and the cancelled. Why was this? Did they need to redo the architecture?

Pre production code names.. As Esrever said we used the 1st Nehalem as a possible direction to go down and ended up going down another path. We have a couple design groups that compete with each other to see who comes up with the next micro-architecture. The 1st Nehalem was from one of these groups and we ended up going down the other path.

Tejas was the codename for Intel's next gen CPUs after Prescott. Tejas was supposed to continue with the Netburst like architecture and scale to high clock speeds. But Intel realized that Netburst was garbage and went with the Core/P6 based design from the guys in Israel and released the Core 2 then later reused the Nehalem codename after Core 2.
 


Well that is where they groups are located. As far as the nationality of the members on each of the teams I don't know. As a multi-national company we get people from all over the world.
