Will a 650VA UPS be enough for a 500W Power supply?

Hello,

I have a 650VA UPS which supports my 350W (400W Peak) Power supply and my 19" LCD monitor.

I am planning to go for a 500W power supply.
I would like to know if the UPS will support that or will there be any problems like UPS tripping or UPS not giving the battery backup at all.

will the ups get damaged?

For calculation purposes VA & watts are the same thing.

Only when you're dealing with DC power.

With AC power you need to take into account the power factor since the voltage and current are not always in phase.

You also need to determine if your power supply will work with simulated sine wave UPS' or only with pure sine wave UPS'.
