Question Will I get A LOT more performance from my 2080 Ti on the new PCI-E 4.0 motherboard slots?

I am not sure how the new motherboards for the upcoming AMD 7nm CPUs works, I heard there is something called PCI-E 4.0 and it will transfer data a lot faster...

So with my current 2080 Ti GPU, will I get like a significant boost in gaming performance, like 50% more FPS? From 200FPS to 300FPS without doing anything extra except plugging it into the PCI-E 4.0 slot?

Or does it work only with AMD GPUs?

No , because it's a PCIE 3.0 card.

not only the fact it is a 3.0 card, but also the fact that the card is not limited by the 3.0 slot as it is. in order to see any performance gains, the card would need to be slowed down by the slot, which it is not. it already runs as fast as it can.

so no, a 4.0 slot will make no difference to the card even if it could use the 4.0 slot as intended
