hello guys,
my name is jag and I'm from India.. I'm new to gaming and have less knowledge about hardwares and graphics card. my pc is around 8 months old and it came with a crappy card, though my card can play games either at a very low frame rate or at very low or minimum settings.

thus I'm planning to buy gtx 670 or gtx 670 amp edition.. can you guys please tell me if my current motherboard can support gtx 670?
here is the link to my system http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c03038580&lc=en
its HPE H8-1000in.

after reading some related threads i've come to know that i would also have to replace my psu or smps (whats the difference) to something greater than the present one.

hope i get some replies.
thankingyou

(ps. can you guys tellme whats the diffrence between gtx670 and gtx670m ? )

Solution
Well first smps is a switching-mode power supply. With that computer only coming with a 300w PSU you will most defiantly need a better PSU. A gtx 670m is for laptops the m is for mobile. You should not have any problems with the mainboard as you have 1 PCI-E x16 slot so get a good quality PSU and your GPU and you should be good to go.
I think it should fit into the motherboard but im not sure about the case. And a new PSU is needed. As for the 670 and 670m, the 670m is the mobile version built into laptops. These cannot be used in a desktop machine.

At least 500 watt in a good brand. Cheaper brands that are 500 watt will peak to that but never stay at a good wattage constantly. It you want it to be useful for longer, say if you SLI then a 650-750 is good. Do you have a preffered site to buy from?

^^ agree with this, corsair makes very good gear, and a good psu will last across multiple upgrades, granted you dont go above its requirements. I use a corsair and I havent had a single problem with it. I never have to think about it, which is what you want in a PSU.

no i have no preferred site, to be true i have no knowledge about psu/smps at all .. please direct me to a site, even if its not avialable in my country (online) i'll go to the local market and search for it.. :)
i would prefer a branded psu..
please give me some names.

here is a pic of my cabinet do you guys think the card would fit the case.. its a mid ranged atx cabinet.
