Sup guys, I was wondering if my motherboard could support the i5 2500k
d2990-a1 -----------------------------------------^^

And if it does, which motherboard should i upgrade in the future for overclocking?

Solution
If interested in saving up a little money though, you can get this.
The 2400G has on board graphics that are powerful enough for gaming on at lower quality settings at 1080p.
And then can add in a GPU later on.

Z67 or Z77 motherboard for the 2500K.
Hyper 212 Evo for the cooler.

The cooler can be had new online.
The motherboard however is not so easy to come by for a good price.
Check the used market well.
If in America, use Craigslist and OfferUp.

Otherwise eBay might be able to help you out.

Honestly though, you would just be investing into an extremely old and dead CPU and platform.

Money would be better spent on new parts after saving the appropriate amount of money.

If you live in America, you can have yourself a new CPU, Mobo, and RAM for about $350
