Here is the list with cpu supported by that mobo : http://ro.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3928 and Phenom IIx4 840 isn't there. Better buy this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157280 and you can in future to upgrade your CPU to a six core, eight core if you need. Upvote 0 Downvote
