[citation][nom]ssalim[/nom]Are you stupid? this is not Tom's contest.[/citation]

No, smartypants, YOU are stupid:

[citation]Bestofmedia LLC USA (Bestofmedia) is the sole Sponsor of this contest.[/citation]

I think it's limited to US because of US export restrictions and other country's import restrictions, both applied to Toms and the OEMs.

That being said, I am from the US and still think it sucks that loyal readers from other countries cannot join.

P.S. Does it have to come with Vista? Can we get it with XP instead?

[citation][nom]zak_mckraken[/nom]Good news! It's actually one full year (50 weeks) which you may split the way you want between the mother/father. Great plan, really![/citation]

50 weeks is a full year?

On another note I to wish to also vent my frustration at this being an US only competition. I don't think I have seen an international competiton before offered on Toms? Seens a bit odd. Especially if over 60% of your readers are not from the US as someone mentioned earlier...

[citation][nom]tipoo[/nom]Wait, are you saying life isnt fair because you have a high IQ and have a deaf ear, or that its not fair because you DONT have a high IQ and deaf ear? Because neither of those combinations is optimal 😛[/citation]

No, I was listing pairs of things, one good, one bad; trying to show that "unfair" goes both ways. I don't think I'd give up the good to alleviate the bad, but then that's just me.

[citation][nom]anamaniac[/nom]Nice complete system.Though I'd rather a Gulftown with 4x5870 2GB and 12GB of DDR3 2133... think that coule play Crysis?[/citation]

No where in the rules does it state that you have to be IN the US, only that you have to be a US citizen older than 18.

Notice how it says one entry per email address...

I wonder what would happen if I made a bunch of different ones 😛

A few comments from Tom's Hardware editorial:

1. We would never sell or give your information to anyone without letting you know. So, this info will not be sold or given to anyone.

2. Bestofmedia LLC USA, is, obviously, a US company, we are responsible for both shipping the PC to the winner and for assuring that applicable taxes on the PC are paid by the winner. Once the PC leaves the US, we essentially lose control of the taxes part and could wind up responsible for any US taxes involved. Additionally, when shipping outside of the US, we usually have to deal with customs and export costs. Even in the US, we have to pay for shipping and insurance.

Some of you may think that we are a bottomless pit of money and human resources. We have money to provide you some excellent articles, but a bottomless pit of money we are not. Our editors work long hours on articles and even more hours protecting the integrity of our content against all enemies both foreign and domestic. [The last part of that sentence is a joke.]

...So the US service people serving in foreign countries are good enough to die for you, but not good enough to have a chance at a 'free' PC? Or we ex-pats, who sometimes have to pay taxes to our host countries AND the IRS are also in the 'too hard' basket? Cheesy cheap, if you ask me, and no where listed in the limited set of 'rules' in this 'contest'.

Sorry, Barry, I can appreciate BOM's point of view, but it is just a bad look.

Weird how its been at least a week since this contest ended and no winner posted yet.

Wow, it has been months and no winners chosen.. thanks for the fake contest

They get your info, but you won't win anything because of this line?
