Right now i'm running windows 7 ultimate , i want to upgrade to windows 10 because i heard it boosts gaming performance , but if i upgrade it , will i need to reinstall drivers ?

Solution
The only gain you will get for gaming is about an extra 2fps in games.

The real and only benefit to upgrade to windows 10 if you use your computer mostly for games will be if you have a direct X 12 graphics card in your system.

Providing you have any direct x 12 capable games to play, there are only a few games out there that use direct X 12 features anyway.

I would suggest to do a clean install instead of the update path. But in both cases I would reinstall at least the gpu drivers. Most of the other things would be updated automatically with no problems, but gpu might cause some hiccups.

Again a clean install is a more preferred way.

Everything said is about a desktop system, if it is a laptop we are talking about it is a completely different matter.

Don't forget if you do an upgrade, it takes a VERY long time.
I did a Win 7 computer the other day (i7, 16gig RAM). It only had on the motherboard drivers and 3 minor programs.
I started at 5pm and it finished at 9am next daynext day.

On Windows 10, games only has advantages when its DirectX 12 capable and your GPU too, or you need games from Microsoft Windows Store. Otherwise don't go to Win10. Also it will boost to max 4fps, if your card supports DX11.2, but not in every games.
If you still want to go to Win10 , then perform clean instal. On upgrading, you don't need to install drivers but there is high chances of drivers issues. So you have to re-install drivers on upgrading.

In my personal point of view, if only if your GPU support DX12 to get full advantages on DX12 game only, otherwise nothing/slightly improve in gaming performance. Win10 does good multi tasking rather than win 7 tho.

Yes, you need to reinstall your driver but,
I always recommend do a clean install your win 10.
Some driver for ancient hardware may not supported.
