I just upgraded to w11 from w10 and looking at system metrics (AMD software: Adrenalin edition) it seems like w11 is using way more resources than w10 was. Seems like w11 is about 2 or 3gb higher in system ram and 1 or 2gb higher on VRAM than w10. Start up alone w11 uses 7.8gb of RAM and 4gb of VRAM. w10 uses 6gb of RAMand 950mb of VRAM. is there any way to get ram usage lower on w11 or should i just roll back to w10?

System Specs.
Processor - AMD Ryzen9 5900x
Cooler - CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX
Graphics Card - AMD PowerColor RX 6950XT Red Devil 16GB
RAM - 32GB Vengeance RGB pro 3200MHz
Power Supply - 1000watt EVGA SuperNOVA G5
Motherboard - MSI MPG X570S CARBON MAX WIFI

Uninstall all the unnecessary apps or software that you don't really use on an everyday basis. This'll provide less usage of RAM and also increase boot time and load time for things as well. W11 does use more resources than 10 cuz it's a more developed OS and up-to-date as well as my sufficient at the cost of more power. If it's that bad than double your RAM lol. I have 64GBs of DDR4 rn but gonna fully upgrade to new generations with 128GBs of DDR5 cuz YOLO lol POG

W11 comes with some sliders in settings that will allow the PC to 'sleep' programs not being used after a short (selectable) amount of time. Edge and Chrome also allow for a similar thing with unused tabs as well as its ability to run in the background when closed. There is efficiency mode, and also a gaming mode as well that take those features to different parameters.

In general (IMO) W11 is far better at memory management than W10 ever was.

my main concern is why is w11 using so much more vram idle after start up just seems odd to me

so far im liking the feel of w11 and ive went in and tweaked quite a bit and its helped some. i made a clone of my OS onto another m.2 and upgraded to w11 on one of the m.2s so ive got dual boot set up jumping between them testing and benchmarking. the high vram usage after boot and sitting idle on 11 is making me scratch my head. i will look at the efficiency mode and game mode settings
