[SOLVED] Windows update and Microsoft account issues on brand-new Dell inspiron 17 7000. Should I return it?

I just purchased a brand-new Dell inspiron 17 7000. I started trying to set up the computer on August 1, and immediately noticed that Windows update wasn't working, and I could not connect to the Microsoft store using my Microsoft account (although I could log into the computer using my account). After several frustrating conversations with Microsoft, I am currently downloading a fresh Windows 10 ISO file, on the advice of technical support, which they have told me they will use to repair my system tomorrow. Using a fresh ISO to fix a brand-new system seems a bit extreme, and it leaves me wondering if I'd be better off just returning the computer and getting a replacement from Dell. What are the community's thoughts?
