Guys.
I need to upgrade my old 802.11b router.

Here are some things I need:
802.11 b/g/n (upgradable to final n)
Built in firewall WEP (of course)
Able to manage access in a IP range and hours range. (192.168.1.10 - 192.168.1.20) 6pm - 10pm (3 hours/day max) ; (192.168.100-200) no restrictions.
Connect a USB camera, USB HardDrive, USB Printer so it's accessible from the WiFi network.
Wireless Video streaming (Divx movie from the PC to some video device near the TV)
Able to use/access Skype & Vontage (with the correct phone and without a PC) will be nice.
Connecting the COX-Cable Internet directly will be nice (not necessary since I have a modem)

Ok thanks!
I hope I'm not asking for too much.

No one responded 🙁
So, I made my list shorter.

802.11 b/g/n (upgradable BIOS)

Able to manage access in a IP range and hours range. (192.168.1.10 - 192.168.1.20) 3pm-10pm

Connect a USB camera, USB HardDrive, USB Printer so it's accessible from the WiFi network.

Thanks!

i don't know much about routers but don't think of 802.11n

still in draft and i dont know if they will make new equipment for it thats make not sure if u can upgrade from draft to final 802.11n and don't count on this ever.

only few routers with 802.11n (the most is belkin)

DON'T buy any belkin now......overpriced and poor performance. also no good support for their products.

if u want nice device for wireless think of 802.11g...some routers modems support G+ MIMO which are better than any 802.11n routers.

take these advices before thinking to buy any wireless router:

- WDS feature is very important. (Search forum for it)
- 802.11g better alot than 802.11n draft.
- D-Link, Buffalo and any other routers except belkin will provide wide varity for their wireless devices and features.

this router/access point is good. i'm thinking to buy one to extend my wireless coverage.

goodluck.

Thanks.

It seems I need to wait a few more months until 802.11n is finalized.

I did find ASUS WL-500W 802.11n router that has a USB harddrive/printer/webcam connection.

Now all I need is a compact firewall/gateway/filter that goes between the modem and the router.
