Would it affect my pc if i put power supply of 500w instead of 450w?

It depends. If you are choosing between a Yugo 500 and a Porsche 450 it would be better to go with the Porsche.

If a 450W PSU is able to run your system, you won't get any performance benefits by using a 500w, 800W or 1500W PSU.

Keep in mind do not buy no name cheap PSU's they may say 500 watt but those units that cost $20 or $30 may look like a good deal but can be very dangerous. Some cheap PSU's will not even put out close to what it says it can and when overloaded it will fry your computer.

Assuming good quality PSU's operated within their ratings, they will only provide the power that the system needs - no more.

If your system needs 350 watts, as far as your system is concerned, it will not make any difference if you are using a 400 watt PSU or a 1 kw PSU.
