I've got a new WD 40G HD. However, when installing Win XP, an error message with "error, C0000221, unknown hard error systemRoot/system32/ntdll.dll" happened. Win Xp could be installed in an old IBM HD in my PC. The Win Me could be installed smoothly in the new HD, too. I've tried many times.
Please help me!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

From Microsoft:

Those guys suspect also a CD-ROM or a CD: <A HREF="http://www.computing.net/windows2000/wwwboard/forum/10595.html" target="_new">http://www.computing.net/windows2000/wwwboard/forum/10595.html</A>

Have you tried at the beginning of the installation the option to copy the Windows CD on your HDD first?

I had the same problem. It was my Creative CDROM (secondary master). Installed from my Yamaha CDRW (secondary slave) worked fine.

Thank you very much! The problem has been resolved. I used the removable HD case in my IBM and WD HD before. After I removed the removale the case and connect the HD to motherboard directly with the native lines, the OS works normaly!
Thanks again!
