thats one hell of a good deal, makes me want to upgrade my 3800+ ...
I'm tempted to upgrade my wife's 3800+, but I don't know if her ASUS 690G motherboard will overclock. I might just spring for a 6400+ instead. Last I time I looked, it was $179 at Newegg.
Then again, hybrid Crossfire boards and dual core Phenoms are coming out by February...

In other news, joining the ranks of Taco Bell, McDonalds, Burger King, and Wendy's, AMD is now offering a dollar menu.
Quite good.
What was your joke all those years Intel was offering Spaceheater Netburst architecture at one half the performance of AMD?
How about this? "Intel systems serve double duty in those long Yukon winter nights where lonely men struggle to keep their cabins warm". Now, why did Tom's not have an article critical of the new Pentiums: "There's more to CPU performance than clockspeed: New C2D Pentiums fail to toast the competitors due to low cache while failing to keep arctic cabins warm."
I can't wait till the table eventually turn. Intel has a penchant for not improving tech when their competition is lying down on the job, like AMD is doing with Phenom today.
