If it will come out at 50k yen then that will run about $500+ if it comes
out here in the U.S. I have a friend who lives in Japan and he got his PSP
for $193. They cost $249 in the U.S. It's gonna be interesting on how low
they can sell the ps3 for...

In Japan.
Sony "always" launches in Japan during the spring/start of their fiscal
year.

I think it depends more on how much MS will ask for their 360.
If they were to launch at a $299 price point Sony would be foolish to launch
at $499.
Not to mention, MS will probably drop their unit price down $50 or more
dollars before the PS3 launches.

Actually, on Thursday's show they said that was a US launch. I don't believe
it for a second because I don't think there will be that many Blu Ray drives
available for even a Japanese launch, but we'll see.

OMG are you serious?
I did not know that.
Now which company is starting to look like Sega?
I just checked ebgames website and they have estimate launch titles for May
1st.
You're right, there is no way in hell they will be ready for launch in both
countries, like you said, I too doubt they will even be ready for Japan. Oh
well, I am going to make sure I have money in reserve just incase they prove
us wrong. 🙂

I know, that was the thing that got me too, that there are US May 1st launch
titles.

I don't think they'll have the drives ready, personally.

Yeah, and? They've got release dates for Quake 4 and Starcraft: Ghost
as well, id software and Blizzard are two companies that never give
release dates until the last minute.

EBGames release dates are imaginary at best.

Yeah, but their release dates signify a joint US/Japanese "fantasy" launch
date of Spring '06, which goes along with what the Sony suits were saying at
E3.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think they stand a chance of getting them out
then either, but I'm just saying, they're not *saying* "Fall 06".

Am I the only laughing right now? Notice the key word ""capability?" Has
Sony learned nothing from the PS2 HDD fiasco? Yet they still expect Gamers
to pay ~$465 for a HDD-less system.

What a frickin' rip-off.

Maybe, and that would make the game too linear I suppose...

The Scarface game just sounds more fun (I pray to God that the gameplay
is good)... You can pretty much do EVERYTHING he does in the movie (I
know you can "hustle" but not sure if you "get high on your own
supply"... If you can do it in "Narc", why not... You can money
launder, buy cars, buy mansions, hopefully you can buy tigers too...)
There's an FU button... The "blind fury" attribute where Tony loses it
and goes crazy... Location-based damage on the cockroaches you shoot
and kill... I mean, what's NOT to like here???

Admittedly I havent even read that much about the GF game but I'm
anticipating the SF game a lot more...

Meh, I like the idea of interacting with them at various points in the game
more than actually *being* them. Seems more "immersive" if you can create
your own life while surrounded by the "movie". I'm not sure I'd wanna
control Michael or Sonny because ultimately, you're only left with two
unsatisfying options. You either follow Sonny's path in the movie, which
would be shitty predictable, or you divert away from the movie, which would
just be shitty.

Although the scarface game does look fun, in terms of playability and
immersive-ness, I'd think the Godfather would be the heir apparent to the
GTA franchise.

Are you sure you really want to play old 8-bit NES games on a big screen
HDTV? Unless the Revolution is going to do some sort of upscanning (which
would be cool! but unlikely) the graphics are going to appear so blocky
you'll have to stand in the next room to be able to see that that 1 foot
tall blob of red and white blocks is supposed to be Mario 😉

Huh? Microsoft is none too pleased with people hacking Xbox. And 360 is
going to be more like a Mac, not a PC...

Not that this is going to stop the hackers or the modders...

You acknowledge there is no HDD, yet you are content with spending extra for
the add-on. Sony did a number on you with the PS2 HDD add-on, huh. Got you
brainwashed into thinking HDDs should be add-ons. Thank God MS does not
think that way with the xbox360.
