Xeon for gaming

Hey Guys! (and Gals)

Have a chance to get a cheap sever board with an Intel® Xeon® Processor E7520 (x2)

i wanted to know if this processor would be alright for a PC to be used as a gaming sever,movies and lite gaming (eg sim4 and fallout 4)

would most likely put a mid range GPU in it eg RX460 or 1050 TI

No, it'll be utter garbage for gaming.
It has extremely low clock rates, and games can't take advantage of it's core count at all to make up for that.
Games also CAN NOT use 2 cpus, they'll only ever use the 1st one.

They're extremely slow i7s basically.

A modern Celeron for $40 would beat it in most games I suspect a $70 g4560 would in every every game. Best bet is sell the setup and start a build from there

i already have a rig so it would basic be used by my GF to play games and watch movies.

if the xeon it comparable to a 1st gen i7 when shouldn't it be fine ? like people are still gaming on duo core

or is this xeon worst than a duo core ?

No, because it's clockspeed is abysmal.
It'll be pretty much universally terrible for any type of semi modern games.

ok that fine i thought that might be the case given its running at 1.86 ghz

so it would be usable for surfing the net, movies running a sever on something like arma 3 or cs go ?

Please note im getting this old sever for something like 45 NZD which would be something like 30 USD

still un-sure if i should buy it tho.

That's basically a Pentium 4. Useless.

Personally, I wouldn't
Just because it has the word 'server' in the description does not make it a good and powerful system for home use.
