Xfx radeon hd 6870 / psu

Hello,

I have a new xfx radeon hd 6870 and a xfx pro550w psu.
The card needs 2x pcie 6.
The psu has 1x pcie 6, and 1x pcie 6+2.
Can i just plug those two 6p in and leave the +2 plug hanging?
Or do i need to make a 6p from 2x molex with a extention cable?

Yes just plug in the 2 PCI Express cables and leave the 2 pins plug hanging.
