I have a diesub printer that cost a fortune. There is no update driver to run it on windows 7. Dug out an old laptop that runs on XP pro and very slow. I need to restore it to factory setting but have no disc. Any advise for a thiko....

If you can give a bit more info about the laptop - you may get better advice (i.e. Make and model). Some/many/lots of laptops are provided with a recovery partition - which contains the original image of the OS/Laptop software which the tech support of the laptop provider might use to do exactly what you are after... retore it to eactly as it was when it was new.

Exactly the process to activate this varies by vendor.

Alternatively... I would use a tool to get th eoriginal XP key from the laptop (or do you have the key already? ... stuck to the laptop case soemwhere) and then downlaod an XP disk and do yourown clean install... you would still need the make/model as you will probably need to get some lapstop specific drivers.

Anyway... get back with some decent level of info and perhaps people can help more.
