Hey guys,

Sorry if there is already a thread about this but I’ve been trying to follow this video on overclocking my 9700K:
View: https://youtu.be/zVl6pcBD1TI

I have the same CPU setting all my cores to 49x multiplier and I’m slowly increasing the Core IccMax by 5 Amps but I instantly get Current Limit Throttling even though I increase the Amps.

What am I doing wrong? When I increase the amps, I THEN get a power limit throttling “YES”.

My MOBO: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F

I appreciate any advice or links to more useful threads.

Cheers, Jack

You don't need a guide for the motherboard. There are only minor differences between boards for any given chipset when it comes to settings in the BIOS. There might sometimes be minor differences in what Gigabyte calls something from what ASUS calls it, etc., but usually you can easily Google that and figure out what the cross reference is.

Along with this:

And maybe a few YT videos or forum searches for any specific terms you run into trouble with, should be enough for 99% of people to get the job done and learn what is needed to begin...
