The rig powers on, boots after a few seconds in a loop and the display shows nothing. The mobo hasn't been flashed yet as it is brand new.

BIOS F6 release date was 2012/02/20 so there is a only a fair chance your motherboard was built AFTER that date with the right BIOS included. If it was manufactured before Feb 20th you'll need a supported CPU to boot with to update the BIOS.
