Ok. I bought this computer back in November. I was on a tight budget ($700) and this seemed to be a good deal. I hadn't been keeping up with computers since about 2005 so I wasn't 100% what I was getting. (Got a lot better idea now of what I got.)

Tower: Zalman Z11
M-Board: MSI H61M-E23 (B3)
CPU: Intel Core i5 - 3450
RAM: 8Gb 1333mhz (Corsair)
GFX: MSI GTX460 OC2 810/4008 (GTX 560 on 460's 192-bit bus)
HDD: 500Gb SATA3 (6Gb/s)
Pwr: 500Watt

I've replaced the HDD with an Agility4 SSD and a WD Caviar Green 2Tb HDD.

Here's why I'm looking to upgrade MoBo: I have an i5-3450 (7th gen correct?) in a H61 (which is built for 6th gen?) I can't run any memory faster than 1333 on the H61. It has no SATA3 (6Gb/s), no USB 3.0, and it's PCIEx16 is only Gen2. Also the board only supports DX10 and my GFX supports DX11 (Plan to upgrade this spring to GTX 660 OC Twin FROZR which is Gen3)

I want to replace with a better MoBo. I found the MSI Z77 MPOWER ( http://us.msi.com/product/mb/Z77-MPOWER.html#/?div=Overview ) and of course I like it. My i5-3450 would swap straight over to this board wouldn't it? Are there any reasons I shouldn't swap? What speed RAM should I run with it.. 2400?

Edited for Type

MSI Pre-Sell support just got back with me (wow that was fast! lol) They confirmed that the CPU will swap straight over no problems.

Any input would still be appreciated. What memory to run or maybe a different board?
