Have you checked the thermal compound paste on the cpu?

It has a reset button but it only reboots the device. There is no physical way to factory reset the device. I'm guessing Schneider wanted it like this as a security factor.

Yes Windows 10 is your best bet. I have it running on an older core2 duo. Paired with a SSD and it runs pretty smooth.

Have you tried replacing the cpu thermal paste? This sounds like the cpu is running hot.
