CPU Price Watch: Intel Coffee Lake, AMD Ryzen

Except that there won't be B or H series motherboards at launch. So that $300 mobo+CPU combo moves up to $350. It's not a big change, but it's significa20247990,0,1031363nt. AMD platforms and Intel platforms both use DDR4 memory now. So it's fair to compare prices on mobo+CPU cost.

Do I need a new SSD

Careful, that seems to actually be a SATA III SSD. The M.2 connector is just a connector; it can be programmed to use either SATA or NVME/PCIe drives. If you want an actual upgrade over your current SSD, you'll want to make sure your drive is NVME, which are usually labelled as PCIe...

    200GB has just disappeared

Weird. The partition is definitely 1.8TB, so I'm not certain why Explorer thinks it is 1.6TB. Someone in this thread seems to have had a similar issue, and solved it with a few commands. It seems Windows recognizes the partition, but it needs to also recognize the filesystem can be extended...

    microsoft office 2013

What exactly did you back up? Files made in any version of Office should work on any version of office. As for the actual program, though, I am not sure if Microsoft makes separate 32-bit and 64-bit versions, so I am not sure if copying the executable over will just work. It will probably...

Do I need a new SSD

SSD's do wear out faster than traditional hard drives, so if it is that old it might not be a bad idea to get a replacement to prevent catastrophic data failure. That being said, most SSD's should still last for a long time under normal usage, so it might not be a huge concern for you. Most...

    200GB has just disappeared

Try using Disk Management instead. It will show you how the OS is actually seeing the drives. You can open it by right-clicking on the start menu, and selecting "Disk Management"

Lenovo laptop completely clean install windows 10

UEFI is not proprietary. It's a newer standard meant to replace the BIOS system that has been around basically since the 70's. However, it is slightly more complicated to get it working since we are still transitioning to it, but it should be possible to get it to work. However, a properly made...

    Upgrading old computer

If it is still working fine and it is of good quality, then in the worst case it will fail and trip up some protection, and you just lose a PSU. If it is really bad or really old, though, it can take out many other parts of the computer, and even be dangerous.

    DVD drive sound

It's still what creates the noise, which was my initial point :) I think we can conclude OP's query has been answered, though; the noise does seem to be coming from the HDD, regardless of which part of the drive is causing the vibrations.

    Problem with new display

ffg7, that's only max resolution. It doesn't state at all that onboard video cannot do 75Hz.

One of my Unknown USB devices in Device Manager flagging up?

Usually keyboard that use more than one port use the second one for extra features, like an integrated USB hub, sound, or lighting effects. It depends on the exact keyboard. I'd imagine you could check the Corsair site to see if they have any software available for the K95.
