I've played MW1 since it came out. It's not free of hackers. It's not riddled with them, but I've seen plenty and PB doesn't catch them. Most of the time, there is no moderator in the servers, and they don't get kicked either. I haven't bought MW2 because of the lack of servers/lean/18 player max, but I'm tired of people acting like MW1 was perfect.

Note to Activision/Blizzard: Everyone knows you want to milk COD like you milk World of Warcraft. Do you want us to pay a monthly fee? I will pay a monthly fee for:
- Dedicated servers
- Moderators that kick players for cheating, excessive foul language, racism, etc
- Update the game and release new maps/content every few months
- Listen to the community and remove annoying stuff like martardom, nube toob, granade spam, etc
- Do your homework and keep the game updated and balanced. Nerf overpowered weapons/perks and rebalanced underpowered ones.

I think there's a lot of PC players that would be willing to pay a reasonable monthly fee IF WE GET SOMETHING FOR OUR MONEY.

[citation][nom]Eccentric909[/nom]I guess I'm not the only one who caught the Raiders of the Lost Ark/Family Guy reference then. Brian: So what happened to James Woods?Peter: He's being examined by top men.Brian: Who?Peter: Top. Men.[/citation]

Nah, I caught it too. Really wanted to be the first on that one. Wonder if it was intentional, or just subconciously betraying his undying love for indy.

PS Cheaters deserve what they get, assuming they were actually cheating (which may be a big assumption, don't know enough about VAC, except that I have never been kicked because of VAC, and I have been kicked because of PB for stupid stuff)

I was playing saturday night and in the 4 seperate parties/matches i was in, i came across 3 different cheaters. I'm not talking about somebody who is just unreasonably good, but people who you could see in the killcam as they jumped in the air and got 3 headshots on the way back to the ground. Seriously.
So i jumped online to see what i could find out about MW2 hacks and what IW is doing about them. then i saw this an article and references to the ban hammer twitter. Funny thing is, this was my first encounter with cheaters on MW2. And this was the DAY AFTER THE STEAM ACCOUNTS WERE BANNED.
3 aimbotters in 4 matches? Are you kidding me? I gave up for the night and went to bed, thinking i wasn't really excited to play MW2 so much anymore. I don't see how they can solve an issue like this without adding human intervention (servers and server admins). That is, if they care about the PC gamers at all

LOL a lot of people here like honda civics. hideous cars, they are lmao.

but back on topic. I played MW2, it is nothing special. Graphics are basically the same as COD4. It is a fun game though. But to get banned off of xbox live or from PC for it... feh...

[citation][nom]damianvincent[/nom]STEAM SUCKS!!! I've boycotted all games that use steam. I don't cheat on my games, I just hate steam, it has ruined to many experiences for me, like MW2 where you couldn't play the game for days after release. companies need to stop using this piss poor service.[/citation]

Steam is awesome, large gaming community and easy to use. This guy must have been born on another planet. Steam is analagous to xbox live on pc practically (although yeah I know they have live on pc, then again... my live game launches from steam which is rather silly 😉 but also extremely convenient.)

roadrunner343 says: So the loss of Dedicated servers and the ability to kick/vote on your own server is a perk too, I take it?

My Response: I never said this was a perk. MW2 has made it easier to join a game by removing the whole practice of searching for servers to join. If you are so adamant on having a dedicated server, why don’t you give me money and I will gladly host your MW2 game as a neutral 3rd party. You can host private games and have your friends join directly. If you need someone kicked off, what kind of friends do you have? Either way, you can always ask the host or set the server as password protected just in case.

roadrunner343 says: I'm all for saying it's a good game, but how in the world can you fault those who are upset about some very basic features that have been included in nearly ever FPS for the past 10 years?

My Response: You speak as though dedicated servers are a basic feature? Why should we force the average person to understand what an IP address is or learn the concepts of ping and latency. Why should someone have to care about these technical subjects in order to play a multiplayer FPS?

roadrunner343 says: Modern Warfare 2 did not advance the series at all. If you play on your console and love it (Or on PC, even) fine, that is great for you. However, if you are too stupid to understand why some players are upset about the absence of some basic features, then God help us all.

My Response: I am not sure why God was brought up. If we asked the Pope whether God cares that a few players are upset about a video game, I am sure he would make me do 1,000 “Hail Mary’s.” Moreover, indirectly calling me stupid shows signs that you are insecure about confronting problems. Why don’t you come out and say that I am stupid? I promise it will not hurt my feelings. As for your actual comment about MW2 not advancing the series, that is a matter of opinion. I own both games and like MW2 more so.

roadrunner343 says: Sequels are supposed to expand on features. If every new game slowly took away one feature at a time and said "Come on people, quit whining, it's just one feature..." we would all be playing terrible games. The fact is, dedicated servers is a big deal to some and not a big deal to others. I, however, am one that find it to be a big deal and have not purchased the game because of it. I don't complain because you purchased the game, so why do you complain about us not buying it? Get over yourself.

My Response: I never spoke about the topic of people not purchasing the game, not once. You are putting words in my mouth which is pretty much a sign of CRAZY. You should seek therapy. As for your comment about sequels expanding features, this is a matter of opinion. There is a whole list of revisions to this game compared to the last, but quite frankly, I am too lazy to look them up.

P.S. @ XZaapryca: I love Honda Civics. They are quality cars. What’s your point?

All fps have hacks. Plain and simple. PB or VAC it takes no time for hackers to find the work around. Of course MW2 is new it's gonna have more hackers as its more popular. Theres only a few things you can do. Leave the game, get hacks..always use hacks, get hacks and if you noticed somebody you think is hacking verify it by turning yours on *it's actually pretty easy to do not hard to tell when you have them yourself*. Or don't play fps games period you'll run in the same problem in all of them.

That's what I liked about the old rogue spear hosting. Ton's of options you could set up games how ever you liked. The host was always there to kick anybody. Why this game isn't set up more like that is beyond me that's what i was really hoping for. But in reality there is no reason for them not to have dedicated servers, since they still have the same lame options they always have. And the community feels just as lame as its been since dedicated servers.

I would be willing to bet most of the supposed hackers people are seeing are false positives. I'm halfway through prestige level 2 and I have seen a grand total of (2) people using an aimbot. I am not counting all the people with hacked prestige level 10, because that really doesn't affect my game experience.

The second people get killed through walls and such they call "OMG WALLHACKS" or someone actually good at the game just has to be aimbotting. Most of the time it is just a case of ignorance and not any actual game hack going on.

I have seen plenty of cheaters around and its just sad to see because it obviously does not prove anything and the kill cam shows it all =) I'm glad they are banning retards. Now I know punk buster used to kick/ban people who had fraps running to show fps or other software like that. Hopefully that isnt happening with mw2.

Since you requested it, Mountain Flip: You are stupid.

1. Dedicated servers have been a basic feature for over the past 10 years. Saying otherwise is naive. You do not need to know the IP address to join a game, it's called a server browser. To a lesser extent, they do have to understand Ping times/Latency, but if that is too much to ask, it isn't very hard to implement a "Quickplay" feature that automatically selects a game for the player, and it's been done several times.

2. Way to go off on a rant on how I used a figure of speech using the word "God." I think you got my point. Here's the difference: I'm not in denial about my opinion. I said I don't much care if you like the game better. Great for you. I however do not, and yes, that is my opinion. However, you are too stupid to understand why some people are upset to features that have been used for years suddenly disappearing. That is our opinion, not yours. There is no denying which game is better is based on opinion.

3. You never spoke out directly, right, but you definitely made it seem as if the removal of these features was no big deal. Maybe for you it wasn't. For a lot of other people it is. I'm pretty sure I said that in my first post. Not very hard to understand why some are upset.

Did anyone else notice that the soldier in the above photo is LEANING around the corner??? What a novel idea! The ability to look around corners without making your entire body vulnerable! They should incorporate that feature into FPS games. Just a thought.

Just to add one more point, Mountain Flip: You referred to everyone complaining about missing features as haters, whiners, and blah blah blah... How is that not directly attacking anyone who is upset with the game?

And just to keep you happy: I still think you are stupid.

It's going to take a crapload more than VAC and Bowling's "ban hammer" to save what is truly a fun game. The 2500 hackers are only a tiny sliver of the thousands of punks who are making it hell to play MW2. It's an insult directly from IW/Steam to the (legit) players to have killcam showing an obvious hack and no immediate recourse. Nobody to go to. Just switch 'lobbies' and hope for the best. It's the 30,000+ a*****es out there running hacked non-steam copies of the game that are doing it. When you get into a map with fifteen players and shift-tab shows only you and another eight have steam accounts, you know you're in for a headache. Most games I play I get bored after a while and step away. MW2, I stop playing when the ambulance shows up. Hell, when you log on and STEAM says 43,353 players playing, 29,091 total players online, how can they justify only banning the STEAM accounts of hackers? I truly enjoy this game, but am getting tired of watching killcams of cheaters looking down at their cham lines to track where I'm at. Tired of the 7 year old yapping on and on about "ooh, owned them hit my AC130!!!" and "headshot"..."headshot" (I know I can mute him, I just wish I could feed him a soldering iron). I say this. Hire a few hackers. Really! Give them a couple grand each to get a hold of every hack they can. Then have them write new hacks that find the ones already out there. Make it so, in real time, when the game senses a hack, instead of kicking, or banning, it removes their ability to inflict damage. Imagine if you will, all of these prepubescent "pwners" unable to fight back as swarms of legit players reap their havoc upon the masses. And then give us their IP and home address. Okay, I could live without that last part. Just a request.

Until then, farewell COD. You will be missed.
....[taps]

thats not a bad idea at all, its a shame that the game company's that pulled in $550m in the first 5 days cant put anything back into the game. surely there is a lot more that could be done to reduce the number of hacks... but then i guess if it piss' enough people off to go out and buy the next "big" thing in hopes to get a better experience it just makes their wallets fatter

I quit playing this game after several encounters with hackers. In one occasion I had left the server and searched for another. This amazing matchmaking system put me back in the same server again! So I tried one more time. Guess what? -.-'

i use hacks on mw2 and have been since it came out i hardly see me getting banned anytime soon as a hacker and all of the cod game pb seems to be much harder to fool then vac really it doesnt matter because keys are a dime a dozen

How are things on my neck of the woods? I haven't played online in weeks. It's become completely overrun.

Hackers and Nuckers run rampant on the servers! It was so nice with PB and private servers. IMHO this is leading to pay to play on the part of all game manufactures. Not on my PC and no consoles for me so guess that will be it for me!

VAC is retarded. It detects nothing that people use and hasn't been updated in forever and a day. And without dedicated servers, its pointless anyway. I hate steam's stupid "sorry, no reporting - VAC is sooo gooood"
