Question 2080 ti poor peformance?

Hi, I have recently built my first ever PC, specs are an i9, 9900k, 2x8gb 3200 trident z ram, rog z390 motherboard, rog strix rtx 2080 ti, etc etc

The problems I am having are due to the card underpeforming (I assume). I bought minecraft about 3 or 4 hours ago and installed a few shaders. Playing at 3440 x 1440, most things on high with a shader on I only achieve an average of 100fps? 1% lows being aboyt 50fps. I know its still amazing but it was all my money and i want value for what I payed for, and seeing people achieve frame rates of 500 plus on much MUCH weaker cards has left me a bit baffled.

Another game i feel like this has problems with is cs.go. uncapped, everything on ultra, i get around 250, which is a lot and what i would expect but my friend with a zotac 1070 and a 6th gen i7 (i think) gets around the same?

Doesnt really make sense to me and since i am young (16) that is all my money gone for a long time, I want to make sure I am getting what I have paid for, any help is appreciated, thanks :)

make and model of the psu?
fresh os install?
cpu/gpu temp and usage during the game?
Pretty sure its a 750w corsair 80+ gold psu

Complete fresh windows install, however both windows and all my games have been purchased off key websites (g2a and kinguin) if that makes a difference

Normally average between 60 and 65 celcius with custom fan curve for gpu and unsure of cpu temps as posting from phone

It's not fair to yourself to compare the performance of anothers GPU as you describe. There are many factors that determine performance involving, Nvidia settings, game settings and indeed settings within Windows that influence FPS.
If your going to compare performance then read some OC reviews and benchmarks then run the same on your own system.
Here is a pretty good review of your card which includes Overclocking results: https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GeForce_RTX_2080_Ti_Strix_OC/36.html.
Don't be dismayed by spaghetti coded games like CSGO. Most have issue with it regarding performance and stability. Remember also that the MAX FPS is dependent on the refresh rate of the monitor.

What about the clear fps issue in minecraft? I understand that monitor refresh rates limit fps, my monitor is 100hz and i MAX about 100fps but is there any way to uncap this? The difference is only small and while I cannot visually see the difference between 100 and lets say 250fps I can still feel a slight difference in gameplay, from what Ive tested on other games like borderlands 2.

stick with 1 thread
Hi all, I have recently purchased minecraft and have been playing, but I noticed that the frame rate was a little bit stuttery, so I put on an fps counter and saw the numbers, safe to say I was pretty confused.

Still not currently sure as to how to put an image onto a post, but you're just going to have to believe me when I say that my fps was at 67 (MAX) and 58 (MIN), this was running at 3440 x 1440 btw. Now generally speaking, this isn't a bad fps in any means, but considering that this is from a computer that has a 2080 ti, an i9 9900k, 2xgb 3200mhz ddr4 trident z ram, asus rog z390 motherboard, 750w corsair psu etc, I am very surprised and also slightly worried to see this. Now, I know that it isn't a problem with my software because on fortnite, for example, I put everything on low and got about 600fps, and everything on max, i got about 150fps. Also, I ran a heaven benchmark test and got a score of 5110 (Extreme preset) and got 202.9fps (11.0 MIN 406.4 MAX), so I can confirm that it definitely is not my parts.

I absolutely love minecraft and am really bummed to not be able to play it at what I think I should, so any help would be greatly appreciated in helping me figure this out, thanks :)

I can't really help with Minecraft issues as I don't play it.
I assume you have read the following thread: https://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/fps-issue-fix/
Can I also assume you have the correct amount of RAM allocated and that JAVA is updated.
