[SOLVED] 280mm AIO Friendly Case

Hey guys, bought an H115 Pro and am having trouble finding a case that will let me do a top mount set up. I am fine doing a push set up for it, does not need to be a push/pull. My budget is around $150-$200. MOST mid tower cases these days allow for a 280mm top mount. It's not the recommended configuration, but they generally design for it these days to provide more options.

Are you looking for a case with bling, or just a solid case with good features? Do you require a TG side panel, or acrylic, or no clear side panel at all?

Are you wanting one that comes with a number of it's own RGB fans, or do you plan to add your own cooling and lighting solutions or not concerned about lighting?

Looking at a case similar to the Rosewill Cullinan V500, or if someone can confirm it does support a 280mm top mount. Also why is top mount not recommended, vs something else?

Because cooling performance is, at least, marginally better when using the cooler outside ambient air to cool with rather than trying to use the somewhat warmer internal case air. The delta difference inside the case from using a front mounted cooler is, in most cases, not even measurable or if so, barely, so that is a non-issue for people who worry that it's going to raise temperatures in the case. So long as you have at least one rear exhaust fan and one top rear exhaust fan, which is generally about the MOST recommended configuration, you should have no worries about GPU or VRM temps at all.

However, that is not to say that a top mounted radiator cannot give you a satisfactory level of performance as well, it's just not likely to be AS good as when cooling using ambient air instead of internal case air.

The Cullinan V500 supports radiators up to 360mm in both the front and top locations.

Rosewill makes "ok" cases, but they are not top quality like some others and tend to lack some of the "feel" of quality as well as some features found on more premium cases.

How much are you willing to spend on a case?

Maybe the Cullinan is the right case for you, but maybe you could get a much better case for a few bucks more.

And is your heart set on there being a front tempered glass panel as well, or is the front panel being tempered glass not a requirement. Because there are few with front TG panels and those that are, aside from the Rosewill case you mentioned, don't have top 280mm radiator support. There are plenty that do if a TG front panel isn't a prerequisite.

Its preferred, or maybe something similar to the Phanteks 3XX series cases

If you want front panel tempered glass, then that Rosewill case is your best bet, especially if you want a top mounted 280mm radiator. Choosing to front mount the radiator is a much better idea, and opens up a lot more case choices. But given the criteria I think that Rosewill fits the bill better than anything else is going to.

The Lian Li 011 dynamic, which would be somewhat different, is also a good option.
