I have been offered a GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 3090 MASTER $800 Aud it's clean and when stressed tested by 3d and furmark does not go over 64 degrees. I heard about the vram issues but I only need something I can game on would it be ok?.

1000w is totally fine, I used one on an 850w power supply, I even used a custom 550w bios on it, no issues.

But I really don't like the price, 800$ for a used 3090,lolno

Agreed it's a little expensive I'll see if I can bargain him down. Would i have to connect a 6pin pcie cable to the 6pin pcie port on the motherboard please

I wouldn't pay 800 bucks for a 3090 these days when a 4070ti in terms of performance is better HOWEVER if you need more vram then go for the 3090 as that is the only thing it has going over the 4070ti. Also the 4070ti is much more power efficient (mine draws about 270-300w on max loads.

What are the prices of new cards in your area? How much is a 4070ti super?

Eg1. Sorry just realized you are talking about AUD. So 800 aud is around 500$? Thats a good price actually.

I bought my 4070ti for 820 Euros (new), near my area I can't find a 3090 even a used one for anywhere near that price. But tbh if I see a used 3090 for cheap af I'm immediately thinking something is off with it but that's just me.

Of note about the power consumption:

The CPU has a PL2 rating of 250W. Coupled with the RTX 3090's tendency to power spike, I'd say the minimum here is 800W. Add another 50W for the rest of the system when it's under load.

So while the PSU should be able to handle it, since its rating is based on the 12V rail, the "meh" reviews it got doesn't make me confident it'll like spiky loads. But again, someone else can chime in on this.
