Is this a good build?

Am I going to need SLI Graphic Cards if my monitor is going to be no more than 22"?

You're 16 years old, if I could be that age again and had the money you're talking about I'd drop $1500 on a computer and throw $2500 in a Roth IRA. I look forward to hearing from you in two years that your computer won't run any more new games.

Please learn to read. From your questions and comments you aren't reading anything we've posted. You've alienated all the people who wanted to help, and you will receive no more advice.

$1500 on a great computer (today) $600 on a 24" Dell Widescreen. $2100 spent today + $1000 over the next 3 years of great computering for only $3100.

Take the $900 balance. Call the best looking girl with the biggest knockers at school and ask her out on a date and let nature take over from there. Do the dating thing right (and don't spend all the $ on one girl) and you could have a date every week for a year and never spend the entire $900.

I asked for information on how to make my computer better/ faster (expensiver) not worser/slower (cheaper).
Obviously I've read every single post on this thread because Iam trying to get information, I asked you guys how I can make my computer faster and better, I asked for suggestions on how TO MAKE IT FASTER AND BETTER... NOT CHEAPER.But people here are telling me to get the slower computer... and since I dont want to upgrade in the future I rather get the best I can...

well, if you do have a lot of money to burn, then get a bunch of ramdrives - on raid 6 (runs circles around the raptors)

there is a link to an article on the main page of this site that reviews one

should be future proof for at least a few years, although a better version is expected out next year
(make sure to get a very powerful ups system - APC or CyberPower are my picks)
(and a good quality psu)

then your budget will go up at least $15K

I can't believe I just wasted 25 minutes of my life reading these posts. I just wanted to say good on everyone who stuck around trying to help this weiner kid out. I think the key fact that he is missing is that you guys know something, and he doesn't. Anyone who makes a comment thinking that a Tras of 12 vs. 15 means anything in terms of real world computer speed is a total Douche.

What buddy here doesn't realize is that we are trying to look out for his best interest, he claims to want a computer that wont need upgrading for 3 years, the educated folks on this forum know that this is an impossibility. The only way to gaurantee that he can spend his 4k and get a system that will last him for 3 years is to spend his 4k on 2 systems. one now and one in a year and a half. High end pc's right now are having a tough time keeping up with Crysis. For 2k you can build a system that can muscle its way into high settings at a decent res.

Neox you need to make the choice of which you wanna do....
1.) do what people here are telling you and enjoy a speedy computer now and enjoy an even faster computer that will stay current later on.
2.) spend 4k.

good luck making the right choice.

But people here are telling me to get the slower computer...
and since I dont want to upgrade in the future I rather get the best I can...

So I really dont know what to do. Yes Iam only interested in the "names" and most expensive and best of the best... I've read reviews on all the products I've choose and almost everyone is happy, sure some prudocts do come bad but thats normal...

In the future I might make OS, and video card upgrades... But thats all, and 45nm CPU will last longer than a 65nm CPU. I Know that the 32nm CPU will be better than 45nm.

If someone could make a system around these products that would be great:

Iam very... I MEAN VERY interested in the Intel C2E series; 45nm.

I would like a mobo that can support DDR2 and DDR3 making it future proof because someday I will go DDR3.

I really want SLI, but idk if it will do any good on a 22" monitor; help?

Also I cant have SLI and 45nm yet... but 780i should fix this. Im sure when this mobo comes out there will be a crap load of problems...help?

I want atleast 4Gb of ram, Im interested in Corsair Dominators.

The OS is very important that it stays Xp Pro, Vista sickens me.

I like the WD Raptor or Raptor X HDD, if someone could tell me what the difference is other than the "X" having a window?

Also around 400Gb of storage. Not interested in Raid.

Are the new 8800GT's better than the 8800Ultra's? (This would be without having the overclocking them)

On the mobo: Gigabyte Ga-X38-DQ6, It says for the ram moduels it is 1.8v. But the Corsair Dominators with Low Latency (3; 3-4-3-9) says its 2.4v? So can this mobo support it?

If someone could answer these questions and make me a configerations I'd much appreciate it. It will put me back on track. And would help me go cheaper (like down to $3500).

THANKS.

5 pages of posts and you return to this stupid question?..spoiled brat..spend 4k on a **** computer..you don't deserve to have that kind of money..geez..and you people, stop helping him..can't you see that he is either bragging and never actually have that PC or he is a complete r-tard and WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR IDEAS..omg, I've wasted my time reading this soap opera..god damned 9 year old's...

You also asked: "I would like my comp to be future proof for at least 3 years and still run games very smooth." Hate to say it, but everyone here is right and you are better off building one now and one in two years. I am sorry the thought of upgrading gives your bum a rash... So don't criticize people here for giving you good advice when you are obviously retarded. Perhaps you could buy a $2000 system every year for the next 3 years while selling the old one at the end of each year for $1000 and spend your $4000 that way.

Side note - I actually just signed up for these forums to make sure you knew this thread is retarded and you're wasting everyones time. Go to the vendor sites and figure your crap out from there without making yourself look arrogant.

Welcome to the forum and for your valuable post.

See... you guys arent helping, answering these would be help..

But people here are telling me to get the slower computer...

Ya I've had my laptop for 3 years and its very smooth... and my laptop has slow components so this comp will last long mayb 4 years, oh ya so new stuff are coming out? So what new stuff came out and my laptop still handled it.

Lemme tell you why I'm not taking peoples advice, One im not hearing what I want to hear making me ingore everything. Im only interested in Intel C2E series and there telling me to goto Quad...

Yo, kid.

If you wanna waste your mommy & daddy's $, great do it. Just don't expect people that work for a living, worry about putting shoes on the baby and food in the 'frig to share your wasteful habits.

You are going to have to pick your own parts. Just grab the most expensive of everything and do it.

I would also like to thankyou for your definate contrubution to the forum... gave me a laugh on an otherwise dull day also :) look forward to hearing from you again slakka

LOL,

Your funny...

How come before you were trying to save money?

Hey I asked for help, Im telling you that I like Intel C2E and I need help If the mobo can support.

As I said before, "Go to the vendor sites and figure your crap out from there without making yourself look arrogant." I don't know why anyone here would give you further advice on product compatibility or lessons in finance that you don't deserve. I hope your C2E tucks your bed covers in tight, keeps you warm at night, and makes you dream of gum drops and rainbows.

Are you refusing to follow the advice people are offering???

If you read the forums and the reviews (Toms Hardware, AnandTech etc...) you would know the answer to these questions as they have done a number of reviews on GPUs. Even the ATI ones tell you stuff about the Nvidia ones!!!

People are getting frustrated with you for a reason - they are telling you what to do and you are not listening and doing it....

Just my .02. You are obviously stubborn and refuse to take well intended advice. Based on this, you probably don't take instructions well either. I would predict that you will not be able to put the system together once you purchase it. Have some extra cash to replace the parts you fry.

By the time you make up your mind and actually buy some parts, the next gen stuff will be out.......

With that in mind... I understand what you are trying to do, although it is not what I would do and many others, you should wait a month or two because the new high end video cards and SLI/Crossfire X4 MB's will be out, then you could maximize that 4K price tag on your system. If I wanted to do something like this I would research how long each part has been out and figure out the new release trend of the MFC's (Nvidia/ATi ) and figure out if some of the most expensive parts are going to be replaced with something much better for the same current price in a month or two.

All of the Nvidia high end cards have been out for a long time now and new ones are right around the corner. Plus the new chipsets that support 4 video cards. Wouldn't you feel crunchie if you spent 4K on the biggest and baddest and it wont play the biggest and baddest games (out right now). I bet if you get a 4x SLI/Xfire rig it would blow the doors off Crysis or any other game. The current 4K rig you propose will not !

Hope that helps

I not building it alone, Im having my dads computer tech friend help me build it so nothing wrong will happen.
