Mac lover here: Apple would ruin Valve. They have too many 'innovations.'
Valve ain't broke. Don't touch it.

Also, just a note about your article re: arrogant Apple. Valve demanded $1 million to port Half Life to Mac. I think that's a tad arrogant. Just me, though.

[citation][nom]tuannguyen[/nom]To those who I already kicked out, you saw the headline, it was Apple related. You don't like Apple news... don't click? Here's a suggestion: Instead of clicking on something you didn't want to read anyway and then flaming, how about clicking on something in your browser that you DID want to see? That might work!Zero tolerance for flaming each other or at site/author.[/citation]

Personal attacks are not appropriate. Agreed.
Clicking the link because it said something incendiary? Hardly something to blame your readers for.

Tell you what, go to your nearest Apple enthusiast site. Convince them to let you publish an article titled something similar to: "5 Reasons Why Microsoft Should Acquire iTunes." Then measure the response.

Tom's readers are just upset that their favorite PC enthusiast site is employing a lot of content that would be found at an Apple fanboy site. There is nothing wrong with being angry at that, as long as it is controlled properly.

Please Tom's, listen to your readers. It is what has gotten you this far.

It's real simple people.....If you don't want to read about Apple news, don't click on the link. You can scroll right on past it. Some people enjoy reading a variety of news. Come out of your tunnel and see the rest of the world.

There goes the tech support and everything that has made valve, valve if apple buys them. If they buy them out, a whole lot of people are going to be ..........

heh........... waste of time apple doesnt have the power for gaming.... like we use to say "you can keep jumping but you anint going no where"

it doesnt have the hardware either.........

There's 5 good reasons for apple to buy valve, how about 5 good reasons for valve not to be bought out? How about let's start with: Apple is more controlling than the average abusive parent and would almost immediately limit valve to only producing games for apple products. Actually, you know what, let's end it there. Because that's all we need to know. No more valve games for PC. No more valve games for xbox. Hell, even if they only acquired Steam, and not all of Valve, you'd suddenly have to download an app from apple to use steam, you'd have to boot up an apple program to run games bought through steam, and you'd have to purchase games through apple. (Which, as we've all learned, purchasing "anything" through apple is pricey) And that's just "assuming" that apple would continue to offer steam to windows users. They only begrudgingly offer us itunes (with its own unique suite of compatibility problems) because if they didn't offer itunes to windows users, they'd lose a "lot" of income.

The world does not revolve around apple. Even if they'd like to think it does, and even if their insane fan base does. There are a thousand and two reasons valve would have to not be bought out, and I have faith in valve to see every single one of them, and refuse to sell out. As a gaming company, I can't see any decision "worse" than selling out to apple. Apple thinks it's in the gaming industry because it controls a larger marketshare in portable gaming than nintendo or playstation. But that's because its games are simple, quick, and cheap time consumers. Just like farmville on facebook. Farmville has more players than halo or WoW ever had, but yknow what? That doesn't make it a real game. Nor does having the biggest marketshare make apple a gaming-involved company.

Ugh, Steam is the biggest pile of ...... there exists.

Reading the following text from this article made me laugh...

In fact, the usage model is very similar to that of what Apple users are used to: "Install the client and it just runs."

Steam does not just install and run, it is a freaking pain, last time I tried using it I gave up after 30 mins of installing and updating, I threw the game into the trash and swore to myself never to use that pile of dung ever again.

Someone said here that steam prevents software piracy, I doubt it prevents it much, perhaps delays but not prevents, only thing steam prevents is people buying products.

What is with Tomshardware lately? All this news tells us, "PC gaming is becoming extinct, get a console now!" or "Macs are the new revolutionary thing, get a macbook, get an ipad, get anything from Apple, their generous people."
The News articiles make it sound as if pc gaming is dying.

title should have included "...and zero reasons why Valve, a privately held company, would agree to sell".
