[SOLVED] 8 pin splitter needed?

Hello, I have a 1660 super and it came with an 8 pin cable that splits into two cables 6 pins each. what I did is used my PSU 8 pin directly without the need to use any splitters. now I'm wondering is this wrong? or is my GPU able to use full performance?

That is how it's supposed to be. The included adapter was for a PSU that did not have 8pin cable but had 2x 6pin instead.

2x6pin provide the same power as a single 8pin (75w+75w= 150w) and has the exact same performance otherwise.

That is not a splitter. It doesn't split anything.
This adapter combines two 6pin connectors and converts them into one 8pin connector.
