After Formating and FDISK still slow

I have a dell desktop that is running WIN XP Home. It we acting VERY SLOW so
I fdisk, formated and reinstalled Win XP but it is still run VERY SLOW. It is
a P4 with 256 RAM and it did not run this slow when I got it. It just started

Install the correct IDE/ATA drivers. Usually part of the motherboard
chipset drivers.

Also, PLEASE NOTE: FDISK is a "dangerous" MS-DOS command which was use to
set up the hard drives before.
