I am not able to boot into anything. I took windows 10 and all the data on my m.2 ssd and swapped it to a new motherboard, and that probably causes the problem. But neither can i boot to a uefi usb with windows install on it. I am using a Gigabyte b550 aorus elite v2 motherboard. Everything shows up in the bios, functioning properly, it just wont boot to anything and keeps showing the Aorus logo. I have the new Ryzen 5 5600k and the right bios (f1 it says, but thats the same as f10 right?) Sometimes it shows ''preparing automatic system repair'' i left it on that screen for a while, but no result. Also when booting on uefi the aorus logo blinks once, and when booting to the ssd sometimes the windows logo pops up but does nothing. Anyone know how to fix this in the boot menu?

Lol. I just checked what bios i needed, it says 1 or higher so im good. But i realy dont understand why it wont boot into anything. Its so frustrating. Ive had a faulty motherboard and spend almost 3 weeks figuring out it was the motherboad. Now i replaced it and it wont boot into windows. Like, damn cant this just be over.

And if you value your equipment, please be much more careful than you've been so far. You've already thought 1 and 10 were the same number twice and being careless here could result in you bricking your motherboard.

omg it worked guys. Windows booted. Do i need to chagce something in the bios or am i gucci?
Words cant describe how happy i am. It has been a 2 month torture for me. 2 months trying to fix my pc because of a previous faulty motherboard. And finally it might be fixed.

What will be the risk of that. I mean, everything works fine right now. Windows is fully operating on my m.2 ssd. Is it because there are still old operating systems on it or something? Besides, bios updates dont write anything to the disk right? If you realy advice me to do a new install ill do it, but i also consider the wear and tear of the m.2 ssd. I need to donwload 170gb again.

You've already thought 1 and 10 were the same number twice ...

Humanity came to concept of zero number like only 2500 years ago. Though seems apprehending of this concept is still individual.

... and being careless here could result in you bricking your motherboard.

Could not agree more. Though after screwed BIOS flashing board technically is still recoverable, recovering require preflashed BIOS chip and proper SMD soldering equipment. So not a task for regular people.

You itself must know what was on your system disk. If previous Windows setup was used together with Zen2 CPU (Ryzen 3xxx) then reinstall motherboard chipset drivers. Otherwise format your disk and reinstall Windows from scratch. It will be better anyway than fighting with weird problems, caused by old incompatible drivers.

In the context of anew motherboard and old drive_OS, there are 3 possibilities:
  1. It works just fine
  2. It fails completely.
  3. It "works", but you're chasing issues for weeks/months.
I've seen all 3. And increasingly, we're seeing #3 as the actual outcome.
Initial "Success, it worked!" And then later..."hmm...maybe not so much".

And that 170GB is not even a blip on the lifespan radar of a modern solid state drive. You could to that every day for years and not kill it.

Lol thanks guys. I know the difference between 1 and 10. But I don't have as much experience with PCs as you guys. I thought the concept of 0.01 would be the same as 0.010. I don't know how the bios wants to display its version. Even the word "version" was simplified to verse. lmao. Long story short, I used the same cpu and components with the motherboard, but the previous motherboard was faulty so I replaced it with this one not knowing it had the wrong bios as the package says '' Ready for gen 3 ryzen ''. Is reinstalling Windows with a USB flashdrive enough?

MOBO manufacturer didn't lied about 3rd gen Ryzen compatibility. And it is still a miracle that we have motherboards which both does support Zen 2 and Zen3 CPUs. A month before Zen3 CPU release AMD seriously told to all world that Zen3 motherboards will not support Zen2 CPUs anymore and vice versa. Then they got a wave of public outrage and dropped that idea.

Is reinstalling Windows with a USB flashdrive enough?
Sure. Didn't used anything different than USB for Windows installing for like 8 years already. Though installed DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.0 from floppy disks in my life long time ago too (geez, now I feel old).
