Question Alyx - min CPU spec required

Hi all.

I own an Oculus Quest 2 and really want to play Alyx. I'm told my PC (see build here at pcpartpicker) won't be able to play it due to Alyx's CPU demands (see min specs for Alyx below). Should I try and find a better CPU for my build, or should I sell up and build a newer PC (am4; ddr4, better mobo, etc)? Cheers.

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10
Processor: Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600
Memory: 12 GB RAM
Graphics: GTX 1060 / RX 580 - 6GB VRAM

Thanks for replying so quick. I have completed the recommended template below.

Approximate Purchase Date: no rush, but within next few month

Budget Range: approx £300 on top of whatever i make selling the current components (approx £100-200...but this depends upon what you recommend I upgrade).

System Usage from Most to Least Important: (e.g. gaming and VR gaming. Current set up is fine for counterstrike, but my main motive for the upgrade is I really want to play Alyx with my Oculus Quest 2, and i do not think my current set up is good enough.

Additional Comments: Basically, is there a way to fix my current build so it can play Alyx via VR. If not, then whats a decent - but not too expensive - upgrade.
