Hi everybody :hello:

I have:

phenom II X2 550, Gigabyte GA MA 770T, 4 Gb 1333Mhz G.Skill, and an ATI Radeon HD 4850

I unlocked the cores on the CPU, so now it's a phenom II X4 B50 OC @ 3.2Ghz

CPU Stock Speed: 3.1Ghz

Settings:
CPU @ 3.2Ghz
RAM @ 1333Mhz
Graphics GPU @ 650Mhz, Graphics ram @ 1000Mhz

14108 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 5186
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 6449
CPU Score: 4824

Overclocked Even Higher!

Settings:
CPU @ 3.6Ghz
RAM 1333Mhz
Graphics GPU @ 700Mhz, Graphics ram @ 1.2Ghz

15730 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 5796
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 7205
CPU Score: 5346

Anyway, I've been trying to find scores for the original Phenom II X4 955 both @ stock speed and OC for comparison against the unlocked Phenom II X4 B50. It seems as though I keep finding scores that are in the 4200 - 4450 ranges...And my score is higher...I overclocked my CPU to 3.2Ghz for comparison reasons.
I want to compare my CPU with Phenom II X4 955.

If any one has a Phenom II X4 955 and can test it with 3DMark06, please test it and put up the scores for me, I would really, really appreciate it...Thanks... :)

Well this post at least does make me feel better;

AMD Phenom 9950 BE

Settings:
CPU @ 3.2Ghz
RAM DDR2 @ 1066
Graphics GPU = 9800GTX+ 1G Not OCd

3DM06 Default Run = 14,674
SM2.0 Score: 6,066
SM3.0 Score: 6,201
CPU Score: 4,719

Looks like my AMD Phenom 9950 is still hanging in there.

Couldn't get her stable to 3.6G on air cooling but heres my 3.4G 3DM06

Hmm...seems like you got a nice setup.
you're lucky you can overclock that CPU as high as you did, It's the first phenom and they weren't known for overclocking well. Maybe you got lucky...

But man...I really want to see some scores of the phenom II X4 955 or 940...Thanks for your info though...

I've not finished my 955 rig or my 945 rig as of to day. I should have my first scores for them by the weekend. I'll post as soon as i can. Althought i just finished one of my AMD Phenom II 550BE X2 rigs today and have had a chance to push it. I know your looking for the 3D mark scores of the other 2 CPU's but if this helps here are my current system spec's and scores:

AMD Phenom 550BE X2 3.1GHz running Stable @3.8GHz (I have not unlocked the other cores)
DFI LanParty Jr 790GX-M3H5
4GB of 1333MHz PQI DDR3
XFX 4890 1GB (Running stock speeds)
Seagate 500GB 7200.11
Ultra Lifetime series 550watt PSU
Stock 955 CPU Cooler (Temps after 5hrs of prime reach 102F.)
Lite on 24x DVD Burner Drive
TJ08 Custom Case
2X 120mm Fans
1X 220mm Fan

3D Mark Score: 15839
SM2.0: 7034
SM3.0: 8566
CPU: 2968

No adj. to video card. And the test were ran in a 3 Loop run.

Nice pics and work on your rig, you may want to consider removing the duplicate photos, it makes the slide show kinda boring.

I see you removed your HDD carriage, good move its a serious airflow blocker, do you have future plans for securing the HDD or just leave it laying in the bottom of the case?

What size fan is that Coolermaster side fan?

I've done some serious mods to my case but I do have a little more room inside mine than you do, however my compliments to you, your project shows great initiative! Ryan

@ videl

I'm interested in this thread of yours because I also want to see the results you're asking for, I know posting my 9950 scores was not what you asked for but it is a viable consideration to any AMD user at this time.

I also have a Phenom II 940, however I had discovered it even OCd had some serious negativity, so I am in hopes AMD has resolved that with the 955, and thats all I have to say about that at this time.

But I'm not trying to hijack your thread. OK

If you look closely the HDD is secured to the bottom of the case using for rubber mounts with long HDD screws out of a HDD rack from an Antec P180. All the mounting holes show in the first few pic's of the striped case along with the insertion of these rubber mounts. Also thanks for looking. Also the Coolmaster fan is actually a 230mm my mistake. And sorry about the doubles but they are actually not. just shoots taken close together for my own reference.

What proceed-er and settings did you need to use to obtain the extra two cores on you setup? I know all setups are different, But just to feed my head.

Nice Setup...My CPU score as a dual core was 2674 on stock speed (3.1Ghz) I haven't tried overclocking it as a dual core...but could only get a 3.6 stable with all 4 cores, but I think that's because I need a better cooler.
Lol...I had to overclock my graphics card to full just to get a score close to yours...
Why don't you unlock the cores? You have an SB750 board...

Have not beenable to get them to unlock. I've never tried before so the settings to do this are new to me. Any hints would be of great help. Thanks, Crazy V

Don't worry, you're not hijacking my thread. So what's up with your 940? Do you have scores for it? Are they at least a little better than your 9950 scores? If they are too low, maybe your motherboard is bad...

Since you have an SB750 board, there should be an option in your bios called ACC (Advanced Clock Calibration) You need to set it to Auto, save changes, and exit. It should then unlock all of the cores.
If you had a gigabyte board, you would need to set EC Firmware to Hybrid and ACC to Auto, then save changes and exit. Here is some more info on unlocking cores http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/phenom-athlon-ii-x2_15.html
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/phenom-ii-x2,2324-4.html
If you have more questions, feel free to post theme up...good luck ;)

You might need to update your bios to unlock cores. You should google your board to find out if you need a bios update...again, good luck...

Well it wasn't the M/B, the tests were run in the same M/B the 9950 is residing in right now, and if the 940 had come out on top it would be in that M/B instead of the 9950.

If I decide to release my discoveries I'll start a thread specifically for that purpose.

However its already old news.
