AMD 6670 overclocking problem BSOD!

i have recently purchased AMD radeon 6670. i can overclock it slightly ex:GPU clock 850mhz memory 885mhz
but when ever i try to over clock it to GPU clock 900mhz(max) and memory 1000mhz and start a game i get BSOD
need some help/advice

You have found the limit of the card! Just leave it as is!

Are you using AMD Overdrive to O.C.?

You've reached the max freq that the stock voltage will support.If you want to get higher clocks you will need to increase the voltage.

Which 6670 are you using?

yes i am using the amd Overdrive

Alright make sure you keep an eye on your temps.

No.Their are no BIOS features for GPU's.Your going to have to download MSI Afterburner.

i have the MSI after burner but i cannot increase the core voltage it's locked

You have to go into the settings within MSI Afterburner to unlock the voltage control.

Also I should let you know that you should be careful while messing around with these settings.If you don't know what your doing you can cause damage to the card.Always watch your temps and don't exceed 80c.And don't increase the voltage a whole lot.Just a very small amount at a time.You should download a stress testing program as well to test if what speed you have it at is stable.

I think you will be happier by just replacing the card with a higher performing card. Overclocks are fine just as long as voltage is kept reasonable. I personally only do overclock as high as I can on std voltage.

I'ts BSOD because it's not stable.You either need to reduce the clocks or increase the voltage.

Are you sure you unlocked the voltage control? Make sure you have the latest drivers for your 6670 and the latest version of MSI Afterburner.

yes but it will not unlock, i did restart but still can't. i have the latest drivers.
maybe i cant because my card is powered by the motherboard?

That doesn't make sense.Every card is powered by the motherboard.

It is possible that either your card isn't supported by MSI Afterburner or the voltage is locked from within the BIOS(which is impossible to fix).

Actually I just found something that might help you.I totally forgot you have to edit some settings in the MSI Afterburner file.

Yea make sure you open up Catalyst Control Center, go to ATI Overdrive, and first unlock the card and second disable (uncheck) the ATI Overdrive box. Secondly, in MSI Afterburner, make sure you change the config file where it says "allow unofficialoverclocking =" from 0 to 1. Then you should be good to go.

meaning my card doesn't have a 6pin connector

The PCI-Express slot is good for 75 watts.I have yet to find something that says how much an OC would consume but usually when the card doesn't have enough power it will downclock itself which you aren't experiencing.

do you think changing power plans from balanced to high performance can get rid of the problem?
not at home atm.

When I'm overclocking I always turn off any type of power saving function.
