I just got an Athlon 1.2 with the Biostar M7MIA, 256 DDR RAM, a Western Digital UDMA 100 Harddrive. It blazes, needless to say...BUT:

Now, when I record .wav files in ACID the resulting file is full of pops and cracks. I never had this problem before w/ my PIII 500 which is why I think it related to my current hardware...possibly cpu and something else. Any suggestions?

DDR versions of mobo's are plagued with problems ATM, check out biostars website to stay up to date with current fixes.

Replace your sound card first to see if that fixes.

Check Asus.com out and notice in the forum posts reguarding DDR chipsets and loads of problems.
Might be able to find problem like yours.
