[SOLVED] AMD Athlon x4 870k unstable stock ?

Hello , so i just bought this cpu and i'm noticing something weird , its not behaving as well as my old cpu "840" and i'm really worried about that , seems unstable , max speed only goes to 3,8 ghz , it's supposed to be 4 Ghz + i think . Temps are good , brand new cpu cooler .

Is this even normal ? i feel like i get more fps in games , but also worse low fps like from 80 to 25 fps .

Motherboard : Asus a68hm-k
PSU : Njoy Titan 500, 80 Plus Bronze, 500W, ATX, PFC Activ
CPU : AMD Athlon x4 870k
CPU Cooler : Be quiet! Pure Rock Slim
RAM : 16gigs 3200 / 2x8 1600
GPU : Nvidia GTX 760 Palit JetStream 2gb GDDR5

Stock CPU speed is 3.9. Did you check motherboard for a newer BIOS? Also your PSU is pretty bad brand, the name suggests a 500 watt PSU, the 12v rating is 372 which is more like a 420 watt PSU. Corsair CX550M which is a good base gaming power supply has almost the full 550 watts on the 12v rail. Seasonic S12III 500 which is another good cheaper PSU has 480 watts of 500 on 12v rail. Yours is 372 out of 500.

Since you have a decent amount of RAM and video card is not as far behind as the CPU you can do a decent upgrade with a new motherboard, 4th gen Intel i5 and a better quality power supply for maybe $150 with used parts.

Well you were completly right about the PSU today almost caught fire . I ordered 650W Seasonic Focus Gold SSR-650FM
Also i read some reviews and people seem to like it , what are your thoughts ?
I've heard people say dont go cheap on the PSU but now i learned the hard way .
