You're so intelligent that you need the sentence to be broken in pieces to understand it:

If you'd have really read it, you'd see that 99% of this thread is BS, unexplained insults addressed to me by AM and blind following of wusy. There's marely 1-2 technical posts and all the rest is their highly educated ways of telling me that I am so wrong; not a reason, not an explanation why.

got it now, sheep?

No!
i don't get it. you are calling me a sheep thinking about the low IQ the sheeps have and you speak about my intelegence with irony.
oh....you were the one crying like a little 1st grade primary school boy, becouse you have faced a hardcore humilation as a result to your uneducated, ignorant, radical and stupid way of thinking.
Such low BS, is that the best you can?

Dudes,

You all need to take a moment and stop this flame war going on here.

Action_Man, altough you say you're not a fanboy (and I really don't care if you are or not), you do behave like MMM and 9-inch with this insulting, and this is not helpful for anyone (neither for you, cause I'm assuming you have better things to do in your life than posting insults in the forum).

Wusy, by the number of posts and time in this forum, I thought you should have understood that flamming won't help out anyone.

m25, for someone who said he wouldn't reply for insults anymore you should have stuck with that decision, which was among the best post of yours in this topic.

Instead of bashing at each other, you all should try to discuss as civilised people and argue with INTELLIGENT arguments about your opinions on the architecture posted here or the reason people shouldn't post images.

PS - Focus on the Intelligent part of the discussion!

Indeed, well said! How about actually discussing the topic at hand for a bit folks? I'm quite curious as to why AMD would leave the L1 at only 2-way? And how can you consider 2MB of L3 large? I think the point has been made that the IPC of the new chip might be very good, but if it doesn't scale well, it won't be competetive in some areas. Then it might be a good HTPC option. Does everyone really think there will only be 4 core versions of the chip? I figure we will see many different configurations of multi-core setups in the near future do to how yields turn out. A 3-core chip based off of this (with one core disabled), might be a good performer for the price depending on what happens. AMD will also have to follow suit with intel at some point and put more than one die in a single package.

Well, Yelds on multiple cores are low at this time in the industry (I read in Daily Tech about two weeks ago that IBM was having really low Yelds on the CELL processor, and that few of them were really coming with the 8 cores working good - luckly for Sony the PS3 uses only 7 of them).
I can see in a few years, with the maturity of the processes that we might see processors with multiple cores, but I doubt we'll see more than 8-core cpus at least for the next five years. Afterall, we need to have the software to make use of them all and software takes a longer time to evolve.

I could bombard him with Kentsfield benchmarks then explaining them like JumpingJack does, but then it'll be like trying talking to a cow and wasting my precious time.
And it wasn't even proper flaming (you should've seen what I did back in 2002...), all my comments were what was needed at that time.

Well, I myself don't see much problem in speculating if K8L is better than Conroe (or it's successor), altough I think it's just an ego war (mine is bigger than yours).

I think we would get much more value by discussing this preliminary architecture of K8L, because we can have a clearer picture for why it might be implemented this or that way and also what are the benefits of going those ways. Other thing that might bring more interest (and a little more heat to a discussion) is to compare this architecture with current technologies (i.e., K8 and Conroe architecture), pointing out where the changes are and what difference they might bring (altough we can be certain if it'll work for better without testing and benchmarking - one example is Netburst, which had some very interesting architectural ideas, but didn't work out as expected).

Discussing future technologies is very interesting, but people should be aware that things might not go exatly the way expected and that fanboyism doens't add anything to the thread.

Win.

i sense failure in m25s presence...

AMD quads roam the wild

Dubbed Rev G

By Charlie Demerjian:

AMD IS OFFICALLY calling the quad cores Rev G, so now you know. People tell me that they are floating in the wild, and most of the non-critical people who don't need them now should be getting them within two weeks or so. The ones who do need them now already have them.

If you backtrack, there is a 10 week or so lag from tapeout to chip in hand if you really push things. Some people have had the parts for a couple of weeks at least, which says that the actual tape out was around late May or early June. This means numbers and pics will be floating in the very near future, oh goodie. µ

Can someone get the Benchmarks?

Second that.

I'm not sure if this thread will work, though: It's been deranged enough to become useless. There are other [worthy] threads on the K8L, anyway.

Cheers!

I would love to see a sticky of a Amd that deals with new info. With out people going oh that not going to work or it going to be hot or Intel fanboys flaming it then Amd fanboys flaming back.

Flamers are the insult of this forum. All I want is to learn info with out some Stuck up adult who acting like a child. Who starting Dumb fights.

I want to learn info that might come. But here what I see.

Intel fanboy Oh it not going to work then it just Bla bla bla bla
Amd fanboy Oh you dont know what your talking about bla bla bla bla
Intel fanboy Oh it not going to work then it just Bla bla bla bla
Amd fanboy Oh you dont know what your talking about bla bla bla bla

So here to all Flamers you act like a broken Records Amd faster Intel faster bla bla bla. Who in the hell cares about your Stupid Flaming so stfu. There people here who want to see info about computers with out your childish act. There about 80 Post on this tread alone that just insults. that after another. then another 5% pointing how stupid you flamers act. And 15% who giving out good info. I will keep posting this info to show how Dumb you flamers act.

I am glad I am not the only one that feels this way.

Ha! I did start one and you flamed me for it you hypocritical waste of space.

Well, it crossed my mind to post the link, in here; but you must agree you've been too agressive & insultuous, lately (even in your own AMD-related thread); even if some deserve a more intensive care, you might also shut others off, on what concerns constructive debate.
Believe me: Sometimes it's hard to stay put, but...

My opinion.

Cheers, Man!

CyberLink Claims AMD is not ready for HD/BD

Will it b the same with K8L?

See, you've got to be your own filter when it comes to the latest news...
