Well they're leaks and not official... So maybe... maybe not....

Official reviews should be out this week so we'll all know pretty soon.

Intel just sent out a "let us know your findings before you release your Ryzen review" to the press.

http://semiaccurate.com/2017/02/22/amds-ryzen-7-1800x-beats-intels-i7-6900k-half-price/

It sure seems like they are quite concerned with that tidbit of knowledge.

I posted that a few pages ago the worst part is "This last bit may explain why Intel PR sent out a last-minute “call us before you write” email to most of the press,"

Why? What is intel trying to pull here? It's not 2003 people watch youtube videos for reviews they watch real numbers getting tested in real time before they buy at least i do. No shady crap from Intel will change my mind.

Lets face it guy's their back an they are gunning for kaby lake... when the process matures an when they manage to squeeze some more mhz out of Ryzen... there's gonna be very very little in it. We could go as far as to say..

There is a new sheriff in town...

An they are selling like hot cakes... Amazon looks like it's out of the 1800x again... Newegg still have it.. well since they ran out an then listed more..

They must have a donkey load of em.. but I can't see anyone meeting this kind of demand. It seems like everyone an their brother wants one. They have to run out... Can't help wondering how long they have been stockpiling them... :pt1cable:

I can't see it working this time either myself... come one like it's the information age now. They will be threatening OEM's next... they will just turn more people against them with that type of behaviour... If anyone is still with them that is.

Exactly i myself can not understand how anyone could be a fan of Intel already i understand using their products cause they were the best and only true enthusiast option for years but now Amd seems to be back and the whole entire youtube based community is huge and they are all gonna review Ryzen and Intel will not be able to change any of their minds. We live in a sue happy world now to. OEM market they might be able to pull of special "deals" i really hope Amd is paying attention.

I personally have no idea what Intel is trying to do it could be something that isn't as bad like we are thinking. But i will say Charlie is well respected and would not make that up.

Apparantly there has been confirmation from a second source as well... (rumoured...disclailmer) Think I read it on wcctek... another said there was something strange going on with it. I think it gave his name also. They said he refused to go into any detail. weather you can believe this or not...

But it is because of their form in the past and up to now.. that's why we are all straight away thinking here we go again... what does that say about them !!!

I hope Naples runs muck on their data center market share... it would be good enough for them !!
Well unless they get up to no good again with the dirty tactics once again that is.. They wont want to loose market share in the data centers. They already seem to be scared. Fear of Zen hehe...

Ryzen is looking great so far.. happy day's.

Will Ryzen overclock better than Kaby Lake ? We wont have long to wait and see I guess.

Aside from the whole Intel is just "evil" arguement, I'm no Intel fan, but Intel is a business and like any business they are trying to sell their product however they can. Some of their practices have been unsavory, but you can't argue with results and Intel has gotten the results. They aren't the first company or individual to make up their own facts, lie and cheat to get ahead and they won't be the last. Heck if you survived enough bankruptcies by hanging all your partners, starred in a ridiculous TV show, made up all your facts and were either wrong or just lied 90% of the time you could even run for political office.....😛

All that aside Ryzen should be a decent overclocker. AMD focused on IPC and power management from the ground up and Ryzen, in a complete reversal now has AMD talking about TDP and power savings over Intel. With Ryzen's low TDP and the time and effort they put in to the design, the fact that AMD made all Ryzen processors unlocked for overclocking out of the box, they should be decent overclockers. I would estimate the R7 1800X should be able to hit at least 4.5Ghz with relative ease. In fact a leaked benchmark of an overclocked R7 1800X seems to support at least a 4.5Ghz overclock.

I actually think Amd ryzen will be a poor overclocker(compared to skylake/Kabylake) actually been hearing some bad stuff on that front. Stuff like that can be fixed however with revisions.

4.2Ghz might be norm but 4.5 will probably be rare. Plus even with liquid nitrogen i think they only got 5.1 or something.

However i won't doubt that all these 8 core parts will be able to hit 4.0Ghz at least including the 1700.

@redneck

I do understand where your coming from mate, but I'm sick them robbing me an I'm sick of their carry on. I'm happy to replace them with a different thief for while ;-)

@jdwii
I'm sure your probly right.. I did see video of some guy's getting it to 5.2 on LN2 at a convention... new world record in cinebench.. it was posted here I think. If we look at it this way, I suppose, thing's can only get faster 🙂

I already posted a link showing an overclocked R7 1800X (overclocked via one click auto overclocking on air) beating an i7 7700K in a single core benchmark. They wouldn't say what overclock they achieved, but to be able to beat the i7 7700K in single core the overclock had to be 4.4 - 4.5Ghz. It is not out of consideration that a company that puts so much stock in overclockablity would ensure its next generation processors continued its tradition of having great overclockers.

Who's your daddy

Now that is a good overclock, especially for a generic one click auto overclock, a real overclocker could manage even better.

We will see what the normal stable overclocks are on these soon. A simple benchmark run never is enough to convince me i remember when Intel's ceo claimed devil's cannon could easily get to 5.0Ghz lol.

I'm very suspicious about the whole hype though. Isn't it weird that ONLY Micro Center is giving these discounts? I don't see amazon or newegg or any other vendor making price dumps like this.

I have no idea what Amd is gonna do the 6900K cost 800$ now and boards are still expensive :) , If anything Intel reacted to fast lowering their lower-end parts something that Amd hasn't even touched yet.

At this point Intel needs to combine their platforms together and just limit quad channel memory for the more expensive boards.

As others have stated, there is no price war, at least not at this time. One retailer Micro Center has lowered their prices seemingly across the board for Intel processors. Micro Center is a great store, but unless you live close to one you can't take advantage of their sale prices so unless you have a Micro Center within 100 miles of your location you are still paying full price for the processors as Micro Center doesn't have online ship to the consumer shopping (at least not the last time I tried as the closest Micro Center to me is 105 miles from my farm- the deals are so good I still make the trip about once a month).

Ah ok, yeah i live close enough to one(Troy Mi) if i was to build a Ryzen build which i wish i could afford to i'd easily go to Microcenter if only they had even more stores for everyone to enjoy. Sometimes they are overpriced on some things and they will price match Amazon or Newegg.

Atleast its a start of some sort. Hope, more will follow suit.

It is just a microcenter sale. Nothing more...WTFtech is spreading more rumors...
