Apples get viruses to, and i'm on an apple now, more people try to infect apples due to the rising popularity so apples idiotic argument will have to end soon.

BTW

I'm on a 1500 dollar apple at school and its slower than my 750 dollar pc i have at home

Hate this P O S

I agree to the post above and I use Macs at school for video editing and i agree that macs are way to overrated

I video edit at home on a pc that is alot cheaper, faster and in general better.

IDK, i just think apples argument is dumb

And those "geniuses" don't help much either... i took an apple laptop i use to school at the tampa international mall to get some help with this mac ( i know how to use it, i was just extremely curious about the genius bar ), he didn't know how to fix the problem and after 45 minutes redirected me to some other punk/free spirited girl who didn't know what she was doing either... so in the end i just said "hmm, let me try this" and fixed it

Thats enough of my rant.. just pointing out that the "genius bar" isn't good help, at all.

I do get sick of the lie Apple promotes that they are impervious to problems.
Plus they sweep their problems under the rug.

Trust me, a virus, software bug or power surge will take down any computer, PC or Mac.

"something that doesn’t crash all the time, doesn’t get viruses and cause a bunch of headaches in general"

Well if people would stop looking at PORN and filesharing like limewire and bear share.....and stay off myspace......

they would heve no problems.

i work at a school and believe it or not.....the three things above are the main culprits.

Yea, MySpace kills.

I cant count how much spyware I removed for friends in college because they couldnt tell the difference between MySpace and the phishing sites.

This commercial is absolute BS. Forget anything Apple vs "PC" for a second.

There is NO WAY Apple can claim Mac has no viruses, crashing, or headaches. Every operating system has viruses (whether they are prone to them or not), every operating system is bound to crash for some reason, and if the software sucks or you are not good with PCs - you will get headaches.

Worst Apple ad so far.

I would love to see a spoof of theses commercials showing a PC asking mac what they are hiding behind their back and Mac saying "nothing" PC then says, "Hey, isn't that the spinning beachball of death?" and mac says"what that? no we don't ever crash" as the beachball starts spinning over him and he shuts up... fade to black

The other two ads play on the fact that Apple stores have Geniuses as well as the fact that PC’s get more viruses.

For very loose definitions of "genius", but don't let that pesky English language stop you, Apple!

Viruses on the house mac: 0
Viruses on the house pc: 0

Times I have complained to my wife about how my pc has problems doing x: maybe 10
Times my wife complained to me about how her mac has problems doing x: somewhere near 10^100

The only thing these (and all the rest of the commercials) have going for them is the talent of John Hodgman. Anyone can put on some jeans and say "well gosh isn't the sky blue" but that guy can even make Apple propaganda entertaining. Thank you, John!

These Ad's both Microsofts and Apples are really lowering the intelligence bar of the whole computing industry in general.

Playing the bulls$##!t to the lowest denominator, does anyone else find this frustrating??

So then what will Apples defence be once Mac hackers find their way around more things? No system is completely safe which is something that everyone overlooks. Your system makes no difference. The fact that PCs hold higher representation in the market is the only reason why they get ragged on. More PCs = more PC users = more PC hackers. Once Apple gets their own version of Conficker down the road, we'll see how well they sell.

Apple needs a refresh ... I see the "cool-factor" dropping ... Apple can keep it up and do great business if they find a way to motivate the premium label other than it's price... The only thing apple has is a shiny "premium" sticker. They can't afford to lose that. Curious what the future brings... I love that besides the better UI the only thing the iPhone has on the 160$ no paperwork e-series nokia is COOL level. The e-series ownes the iphone :) :D.

I would direct that person to the nearest library and give them a lantern in case the power goes out.

@ Apples Doomed,

You can download virus protection for Macs. The program is called virus barrier X5. I think that they should have called it iVirus.

We have Macs and PC's at work. The last time the company had a virus was 2001. It was downloaded by someone looking for porn at work.

Funny that Apple would offer software that is not needed.

They should keep marketing to the ignorant. It's worked so far.

However, by doing that they are consistently reducing the collective IQ of the average Mac user.

As usual, I am entertained.

Apple has 10% of the market and that's only going to go up. Most organizations now recommend and already install anti-virus on macs its a complete myth that they're invincible.
PC's aren't that great either but when they do get a problem, its much easier to fix than with a mac.
The "Apple Tax" is merely nothing more than a Genius Bar service charge...make it optional and macs become a great value.

Have any Mac Addicts actually used a PC in the past few years?

The Anti Virus solutions nowadays are great. Kaspersky, ESET etc.

I've been using NOD32 for a while now, and I even stopped using Ad-Aware's Adwatch.

I haven't had the slightest bit of spyware, or a virus, in quite a long time.

So if Windows 7 retail is aesthetically pleasing (which it is), has good defense against spyware and viruses (which it will, on top of any decent Antivirus solution, which EVERYONE should have), what is the appeal of a MAC again?

Oh, probably the 200% Mark up in hardware price, and the more severely limited software library.

I'm growing so sick of these commercials as well. They have the same problems w/ virus, but you just don't hear about it. Considering the market share Microsoft has, of course they are a target for these attacks. Macs are nice , but too over priced. No freedom to update hardware (video cards, memory, etc.. w/o buying a new machine..give me a pc anytime.

We get the most problems from the two users we have at work that "require" a Mac yet run XP virtually for compatibility reasons, and regardless of how many times they call Help Desk, they continue to believe that their Mac is superior. We offer them a Windows laptop - which is essentially what they're using with Virtual XP - but it's just not cool enough. The general attitude between these two users is that they too are smarter and better than everyone else and they're impossible to work with over the phone.

Oh, and my mother-in-law's iMac ALWAYS crashes when using Safari. They finally downloaded Firefox. The other machine in their house has never once had a problem...it's an old Dell P4 with Windows XP.

Apple computers are overpriced that's the bottom line. And you CAN get a large monitor on a PC laptop. Windows XP runs crash free depending on when kind of software you install. The real issue is that any dumb programmer out there can make software for a PC and it's those crappy pieces of software that cause crashes... NOT the hardware or Operating system (although windows is not without flaws) BUT Apples get viruses and have problems, plus they are being targeted more since they are growing in popularity. Saying that an apple doesn't get viruses is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!

I have 2 machines. One running XP Pro SP3 and the other running Vista SP1 and I do not suffer any crashes to the machines. I run registry cleaner and defrag software monthly on the machines.

Both run Norton 360 and both do not pickup viruses.

I receive no headaches from operating the machines at all. I get more headaches in working with 3rd party software rather than the OS.

Apple is reaching and failing with these worthless ads. They do nothing for the general populous as they are only created for the iTard cult. They watch these and then get together and pound each other in the iAss using their iPeen.

Drink some more kool-aid iCult members. It's made with Steve Jobs iPiss.

I always find it funny how people blame their inability to fix or tweak OS X on the fact that you just simply can't. Could it be, maybe, that you just don't know how? Because, I don't know, it's not an OS you are familiar with from daily use?

Huh?

What does getting viruses have to do with their hardware being more expensive? I seem to recall them advertising that one can install XP on a Mac. If I buy a Mac and install XP on it, how is my Mac, running XP, any less susceptible to viruses?

What if I simply can't afford to spend $2500 on a computer? I can't afford to buy an Apple computer. Even if I believed their reliability and stability claims it wouldn't do me any good. A computer I can't pay for has ZERO value to me.
