Question Are there any AIO Coolers that don’t need control software ?

Are there any newer AIO coolers with displays that work well on Linux without requiring control software?
I know that many AIOs default to a basic settings without software, but the pump or fan speeds might not be customizable, and some displays could show error messages if software isn’t installed.

where if you went with the ARGB version, you'd need software to manage the lighting. If you went with the non-ARGB version, you'd need the BIOS to manage the fans/pump.

For a picture on LCD screen on the pump it needs USB connection and SW to set/change display. Unless somebody releases "Smart" AIO that is,

Can I assume every AIO that can display the CPU temperature or other data needs a USB connection and dedicated software on the OS level running?

To make it work there would have to be some kind of CPU built into the AIO. In addition to be completely without needing software loaded on the client machine it would need a bunch of temperature probes.
All the temperature numbers you see are on from sensors inside the cpu chip itself or on the motherboard. You only have access to these from software running on the main OS.

No mobo has that ability, but custom software from the maker can access that info and display on that screen. However, you do NOT need that to get good cooling.

For your search for an AIO system that does NOT require added custom software tools, one guide is this: IF the system NEEDS a connection to a USB port, then it IS using such added software and probably requires it. But any system that can be connected only to the CPU_FAN header, an AIO_PUMP header, and possibly another mobo fan header does NOT require extra software. Such systems (there are many) can be controlled automatically by the existing fan and temperature management tools built into BIOS Setup in the mobo. SOME such system do come with their own cooling management apps, but those merely access the mob's built-on tools and make your tasks of adjusting easier. Generally they do not add extra features.

I wish there would be an online database out there that could help me that lists all AIOs and their connections. Usually I use geizhals.de, but they don't track all the features of AIOs.
