Karash's Killer Instinct!

Back again with the Asus / Corsair theme only this time using that budget to it's best possible outcome! High quality components, killer looks, and killer speed! It definitely couldn't get any better than this or be built with any more awesome components. It even has an Asus BD-R and an Asus Xonar discrete audio!

Everything (Less CPU) sticks to two manufacturers! How friggin' awesome is that?!

Processor: Intel Core i7 3930K Combo $854.98
Motherboard: Asus P9X79 Motherboard Combo $854.98
RAM: Corsair Dominator GT 16GB DDR3 2133 $289.99
Graphics Card: Asus GeForce GTX 590 3072MB $749.99
Hard Drive: Corsair Force Series GT 180GB $274.99 (It is now $304.99)
Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 800D $259.99
Power Supply: Corsair Professional Series Gold AX1200 $299.99
Cooling: Corsair H100 $119.99
DVD Burner: Asus Black BluRay Burner $89.79
Sound Card: Asus Xonar DS 7.1 $41.99

Total: $2,981.70 at time of purchase (11/28/2011)

Edit: At time of purchase, the Corsair Force GT 180GB SSD was $274.99 but it is now $304.99, putting my build slightly over budget. If I remove the discrete sound card, I chop $41.99 out making my build $2,969.71 with adjusted price of the SSD.

Nice system but im left wondering where the Revo drive fits in after the 3 dual slot graphics cards are installed.

Case Fan: Atrix FANCIRED4RB-F @ $.99 total
DVD Burner: Samsung Black SH-222AB - OEM @ $15.99

If necessary for fitting, the lower 3.5 cage can easily be removed to accommodate larger GPU's, total build price = $2,960.30.

I'd considered doing a multi-ssd raid 0 array, but it would be limited to 2 drives, so that's not an option where speed's a concern, so I opted for the PCI-E OCZ RevoDrive 3 instead. Couldn't fit the fastest into the budget with the high-end RAM and GPU, so I went with what COULD be fit into it. It wasn't easy, lol.
