Hello,

I want to put the best cpu available for this board and this seems to
be the Athlon 2600+ Thoroughbred with 266 MHz FSB.

But, what would happen to a Barton 2600+? As it gets its ca. 2000 MHz
by 12.5 * 166 = 2075, will it be hardwired for 12.5 Multiplier?
Will it so just use 133 * 12.5 = 1662.5 MHz on the A7V266-E
Motherboard?
Or can i set the multplier on my own?

Thanks for your help!

The 2600 is NOT the best cpu available for overclocking. the 2500 is. Do
some research on it. With proper cooling the 2500 can be over clocked to
2.13ghz, nearly 1ghz over it's default speed. Just make sure you have the
mobo/ram/powersupply to handle it. And LOTS of cooling.

I thought the default speed is 1.83GHz for the Barton 2500+ so a 1GHz
overclock would put its speed at 2.83GHz.
